"Alex, would you like to bring this basket of cookies over next door?"
"Yes!" I scream with excitement, then try to play it cool. "I mean, erm, yeah, I guess."
I grab the basket of cookies and run to the house next door, trying not to drop the basket. I ring the doorbell and patiently wait for someone to answer.
I wait a few minutes but no one answers. His car is in the driveway, why isn't he answering? All of a sudden, the door flies open, and all I see is a 6'4" man and piles of boxes behind him.
"Hello, I'm Alex, your next door neighbor. This is a basket my mom made to welcome you to the neighborhood!" I smiled. "Also, sorry for earlier, I just thought you were the singer of one of my favorite bands. You both look really similar."
"No worries, Alex, who did you think I was?" He asked with a smile.
"I'm not sure if you will know this band but, I thought you were Andy Biersack from Black Veil Brides. I know, it sounds crazy but I always wanted to meet him and I was just fantasizing like I always do."
"What makes you think that I'm not him? I mean, maybe I am Andy. And I don't think any neighbor would do this." He said as he started to sing the chorus of "Perfect Weapon" the exact way Andy sings it.
"Holy shit! It is you! You're Andy Biersack! I always dreamed of meeting you!" I yelped with excitement.
"Shhhh! I don't need a mob of teenagers coming up to me!" he whispered but yelled at the same time.
"Don't worry, no one lives over here, at least no teenagers. There are some little children here but they're too young to really understand music and basically dedicate their lives to their favorite bands." I replied.
"Hopefully teenagers from across the country don't come over here and attack me," Andy laughed. I laughed too, hoping he didn't realize that I was basically dying on the inside since I get to live right next door to him.
I hear my phone ring and I just hear the chorus to "In The End".
"Oh crap, it's my mom, she's been really overprotective ever since my dad left us. I'll just be one sec." I said as I quickly turned around and answered the phone.
"Alex! Where the hell are you! I've been worried sick!" my mom yelled the second I picked up the phone. I'm pretty sure Andy heard it too; especially since I had to move my phone away from my ear so I didn't go deaf. It felt like I accidentally put my phone on speaker but I didn't. "Mom, calm down, I'm still next door with the neighbor. Ev--"
"Are you okay? Did he hurt you? Did he touch you in inappropriate ways?"
"Mom, I'm fine, I'm a teenager, I can handle myself just fine."
"Okay, be careful, love you."
"Love you too, mom. I'll be home in a little while." I mumble as I hang up the phone. "Sorry about that, as I said before, my mom has been really overprotective ever since my dad left."
"It's fine, um... I could use some help unpacking, if you would like to help, I have a lot of stuff and I'm not really sure how I want to set everything up," he asked, opening the door a bit more.
"Sure, I would love to help, I don't think I have anything to do so I'll just text my mom and tell her that I'm going to help you," I said as I took my phone out of my pocket and texted my mom saying that I'm gonna help Andy unpack and set everything up. I walk in the door and I look over and see Andy looking at me with a sparkle in his eyes. Maybe it's just a reflection, or does he actually like me that way? I give him a kind smile as I help him open the boxes and figure out where to put everything. I looked up a few times to Andy looking at me and smiling. Maybe he does like me. I think I'm starting to like him, everytime I see him staring at me, I feel my face get red.
Andy gets up and asks, "would you like something to drink? I have water and...that's it."
"Sure, I am feeling a little thirsty from running over here earlier." I said as I look over and see Andy grabbing water bottles. He comes back over and hands me a bottle while smiling. He quickly turns away the second he starts to blush.
"Is everything okay, Andy?" I ask, walking over to him and putting a hand on his shoulder (even though I can't reach his shoulder since I'm only 5'4").
"Yeah, I just thought I heard something."
"Oh, okay," I say as I turn around to go back to helping Andy unpack.
All of a sudden I feel Andy's hand on my shoulder, quickly turning me towards him. He cups my face and kisses me. I start to blush and start kissing him back.
"I know we only knew each other for a few hours but would you like to be my girlfriend?"
"Yes!-uh, I mean, yeah, sure. But as you said before, we don't really know each other. But we can still be friends and when we start to get to know each other better we can start dating," I said the nicest way I could. "I'm really sorry but I think we are just rushing things. And plus, my mom would probably freak if I told her that we started dating the same day that we met."
"She doesn't have to know," he said as he kisses me again.
"I won't tell her but knowing her, she will find out eventually. She's like a fucking hawk, she finds out everything even if I don't say anything to anyone," I say as I turn away and continue helping him unpack. I hear the chorus to "In The End" again.
"Goddammit mom!" I yell as I hear her screaming again.
"Alex! Get your ass home now before I come over there and drag you back!"
"Jesus Christ mom, calm down, I'll be home in a few minutes." I say as I hang up the phone and kiss Andy's cheek. "My mom wants me back home, I'll come back tomorrow." Andy hugs me and kisses my forehead, "Okay, I love you," he whispered. I try not to tell him that I love him back. I feel bad for rejecting him but I don't want to rush things between us. We had only met today and he's already asking me out. I wanted to say yes but I don't think it's the right time. He has been my celebrity crush for a few years now but everything just happened so quickly. I start to leave and I turn back and smile. Andy waves and says goodbye and I wave back and close the door behind me.
