Darkness of the Mist....Surprise Realization

As I looked at Panik, I notice a shadow-like aura surrounding him.
"I'll start. I play the spell, Two for 2! I discard two cards and special summon two level 2 monsters. Appear, Sinister Archer and Sinister Swordsman!"
I simply frown, trying to understand what Panik was up to.
"I now activate Mischievous Mist's effect from the graveyard. I Special Summon it in defense mode and its level becomes 2. I now will introduce you to my comrade who wishes to destroy you! I overlay my three level 2 Dark monsters!"
"What!?" I stare in shock as Panik created the overlay network.
"Fog of darkness, envelope your foe and give them an ultimate nightmare. Xyz Summon! Appear, Number 96: Dark Mist!" The aura around Panic grew, then started taking form as the monster he just summoned. I couldn't believe he had a Number, but then I hear laughter. I look back and see a figure next to Panik. It looked like Astral, but was black and grey with purple jewelry and gems.
"How is this possible?"
Number 96 simply snickers before shaking his head.
"You should of figured that since you hold Utopia, I would exist as well. I'm a bit disappointed in your lack of expectations. However...." He then points at me, "I don't think you will be able to stop me anyway!"
"I end my turn with a face down. Let's see how you get out of this, John Tsukamo."
I was surprised, but I knew that I had to win this Duel.
"Draw!" I look over my hand and smile.
"I play Utopic Recruit!" I set the card down, and a young man wearing silver armor and a small gold shield appears.
" His ability treats him as two monsters for an Xyz summon! I now construct the overlay network!" My monster split into two and flies into the xyz portal.
"Protector of Hope, descend and defy those who dare to destroy the peace. Xyz Summon! Appear, Number 39: Utopia!"
At LDS Control Center
"Sir! We've picked up two powerful summoning signitures. Both are Xyz!"
A man sitting in a chair above the analysts pushes up his red glasses, looking stern.
"Bring up an image if possible of the duel."
A screen appears, revealing Panik, but the opposing duelist was hidden by the building. A shadow could be seen behind Panik, but that's it.
It seems like we have an Fusion soldier using Xyz, but what's with the shadow and who is his opponent?
Back to the duel
"So, you finally showed up, Number 39. Took you long enough." Number 96 replied snidely. I looked at Utopia, seeing his gaze hardening at not Dark Mist, but at the Astral look-a-like form of Number 96.
Is he taunting my ace? Or is there more to the Number cards?
I shake my head, then resumed my turn.
"I set a card and end my turn. Let's see how you get past me and my ace, Panik."
96 simply clicks his tongue, apparently disappointed.
"Oh John. You think it's Panik you're dueling? I'm surprised you haven't found out that I'm using him as a vessel." He laughs as Panik looks to him in shock, but then Panik's eyes start glowing purple, indicating he was indeed being controlled. Panik/96 laughs maniacally.
"My turn." They say, and after drawing, Panik/96 smirks.
"I activate Rank-Up-Magic: Barian Force! I evolve my avatar into its true form while increasing its rank by 1. Shadows of destruction, create a storm that eradicates all! Chaos Xyz Evolution! Appear, Number C96: Dark Storm!"
LDS headquarters
"Sir! The Summoning signiture! It surpassed all possible measurements!"
The screens start cracking, but a few remained intact.
"President. Should I dispatch a team?" asks a big person in a suit next to the now known president.
"No, let's just keep observing. If the need arises, you shall lead the team. Understand, Nakijima?"
Nakijima simply nods, sweating a little bit.
Back to the alley...
"I activate Dark Storm's ability! I detach an overlay unit and decrease Utopia's attack to zero, then I gain his attack!" Panik/96 laughs.
"I activate my face down, Forbidden Chalice! It increase your monsters attack by 800, but negates its effect." I sweated, knowing I had to get rid of Dark Storm somehow. However, I started fearing something was off as Panik/96 laughs harder.
"I was hoping you would do that, John. I activate the spell, Mist Fusion! I target one Dark xyz monster in the graveyard and one monster whose effect is negated as material for a Fusion Summon!" I gasp as Dark Mist revived and flew into a Fusion portal with its Rank up counterpart.
"Shadowy fogs that banish the light, become one and reveal the true darkness! Fusion Summon! Cause mayhem, Level 7, Shadow Numeron Berserker!" A dark fog starts to spread from the portal, and a dark grey hand rises up, pulling out a monster that had what seemed like 7 eyes, a bulky body with purple and gold gems covering its armor. It also wielded a giant axe, similar to Junk Berserker's, except it was black and silver with purple gems. I could sense intense malice coming from the monster, making me step back a little bit.
LDS Headquarters
The computer screens all shatter, clearly taking too much strain from the energy. Only the video of the duel was still up and running. Nakijima starts to sweat, clearly shocked.
"President Reji, we need to do something!"
Reji pushed nods, clearly shaken as well.
"Take a team and see the outcome of the duel. Do not engage." Reji says, his eyes still on the duel.
Back at the duel...
"Hahahaha! Behold my true avatar, John! Berserker's effect! By banishing one card in my graveyard, I treat him as an xyz monster used in his Fusion summon. I banish Mist Fusion and choose Dark Mist! Now, Berserker attacks Utopia! Now, I banish my Sinister Archer to be used as an overlay unit and reduce Utopia's attack by half and gain that difference!" Both monsters attack became an equal 1250. I didn't want to lose Utopia, so I decided.
"I activate Utopia's effect! Light Wing Shield!" Utopia took one of his overlay units and extended one of his wings and protected himself from Berserker's axe. Panik/96 simply clicks his tongue, disgusted.
"I guess you are not scared yet. Don't worry though," he smiles evilly, "I'm just warming up. I activate Shadow Numeron Berserker's other ability! When his attack is negated, I simply banish one Fusion material and can attack again! And this time I choose to treat him as Dark Storm! I banish Sinister Swordsman and reduce Utopia's attack to zero and gain the difference! Time to feel my true power, Utopia! SHADOW DRAIN!"
I couldn't believe my ears and started to get nervous, Utopia got hit by a beam of shadow energy from Berserker's axe, and fell to his knees. I realized I was in trouble.
"Don't give up!" Yells a female voice. A figure jumps down behind me and I hear an AI voice come from her duel disk.
"Intrusion penalty: 2000 life points."
I look behind and see it's the same girl I seen run into the alley.
"Who are you?" She looks at me and smiles.
"I'm Shiro."
