*Connor's POV*

Why Mother would leave Janna in charge was beyond me. I mean we are literally in the same town as her friends and I'm not sure what Chachi is. Which is why she told us not to get ourselves killed while she was out. She said she'd be back by ten, it's three now. That's seven hours; eight technically since she left a hour ago.
"I'm bored." Noah whined, flopping down beside me on the bed. "Let's do something."
"Like what, N?" I asked slightly annoyed. This was the twelfth time we'd had this conversation. "It's not like we can go anywhere."
"Let's go explore. Go to Miller's Hideout." Noah looked up at me with big puppy dog brown eyes.
"No that's not going to work this time." I shook my head. "Janna told us not to leave the cabin."
"Jan isn't going to be back until tonight which is plenty of time." The brunette swindled, still giving me the eyes.
"No, Noah, I'm not going." I was weakening by the second and she knew it too.
"Oh come on, Con." She sat up on her knees and pouted. "For me?"
With a sigh, I sat up. "Fine. Let's go to Miller's Hideout."
"Oh, thank you! Thank you!" She tackled me in a bear hug. "I love you, bubby."
"I love you too, N. Now get off of me and go find Nancy." I pushed her away toward the stairs.

"You're such a push over for her." Nancy laughed softly.
I shrugged. "I like seeing her happy. Is that a crime?" I asked, almost falling over a tree root.
Nancy caught my arm before I could faceplant. "I'm serious through I could have asked you all day to go and you wouldn't have budged, but it took Noah all of four minutes to convince you."
"So sue me, Nanc." I said sarcastically. "Wait!" I stopped walking. "You lot set me up."
Nancy rolled her eyes. "Took ya long enough, honey." Nancy kissed my cheek and ran ahead to catch up to my twin.
They've gonna be the death of me.
"Connor, hurry up!" Noah yelled, causing me to pick up my pace.

Noah laughed and stretched out on the grass. "You're such a weirdo."
"Gee thanks, N." I said in between laughs.
"How are you twins?" Nancy commented rhetorically.
Pushing back wet hair from my forehead, I stuck my tongue out at her. "I don't know, doll, just fate I guess." I mocked a British accent-seeing as I'm the only one in the family without one-causing both girls to giggle harder.
"You reminded me of your dad just then." Nancy stated.
Noah's smile instantly fell. It came back so fast that Nancy didn't notice, but trust me I saw it.
I placed a hand on shoulder to which she smiled greatfully. "Is that a good thing?" I glanced back at Nancy, who had realised what she'd done.
"A very good thing." She ruffled my hair. "I'm hungry."
"Me too." Noah nodded in agreement, pulling her short, wet hair around to her shoulder.
"There's a dinner not far from here. I saw it on the walk down." I suggested.
Noah jumped up, pulling me along with her. "Then take us there. Stat."
I laughed at her anologe. "Coming, Nanc?" I held out my hand to help her up. She gladly accepted.
We all, hand in hand, took off running toward the top of the knoll.
The diner had a fifty's look to it with red and white tile on the outside and marble floors on the inside. A sign hung above the door with the word Kenny's on it in red fluorescent lights.
A bell chimed as each of us walked in letting the person behind the counter know someone had arrived.
As we sled in a booth toward the back, a waitress sauntered up. Her uniform mirrored that of the girls in Twin Peaks.
"Does he always do that?" The waitress asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Do what? Stare at people?" Noah answered.
The waitress nodded.
"Yeah he does. He like to observe things." Noah shrugged and elbowed me in the stomach. "Con, stop it!"
I looked down apologetically. "Sorry about that I was thinking about how your outfit reminds me of a TV show." I stated, looking down at the menu.
"I know what you mean. I could be Shelly Johnson if it weren't for the skin color and hair." She laughed. Our waitress was fairly young. If I had to guess I'd say she was around fifteen.
I looked up and smiled. "Did they do it on purpose?"
"What the uniforms? Nah, but I like that they remind me of my favorite show." She shrugged.
"Now what do ya want to drink?" She had a slight almost unnoticeable accent.
We all ordered; a Doctor Pepper for Noah, a Sprite for Nancy, and a Coke for me.
"Looks like someone else likes that weird show." Noah commented.
"See heres what I don't get. You call it dumb, yet you are obsessed with the murder in the cabin." I said.
Before she could answer the waitress-Talia-appeared. "The murder in the Morrison Cabin?" She inquired.
"Yep." Noah suddenly seemed interest in what was being said.
"My mom was in on it. Won't talk about it now though." Talia laughed. "Now people aren't suppose to know that, but she helped the bad guys. So did Jimmy over there." She pointed at the guy behind the bar making a milkshake. "He was there the night they killed her."
"He was?" Noah sat up to get a better look at him. "Do you think he'd talk about it?"
"Good luck with that, love, ain't a soul in this town going to talk about it." She paused. "Everyone's afraid of that little girl." So with that being said, we ate in silence.
I knew Noah wasn't going to give up though not until she got what she wanted. And Talia had just given her a small lead named Jimmy.
