MANILA -- Onscreen sweethearts Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla shared a sweet moment during a party thrown last Saturday by their fans in celebration of the actress' 18th birthday.

The party, which was held at Fernwood Gardens in Quezon City, was two years in the making with resources reportedly pooled from some 84,000 loyal supporters of Bernardo here and abroad.

A number of Bernardo's fans even flew in from Taiwan, Qatar and parts of Europe to join the celebration which had pink, gold, and glitters as its motif.

"It's her 18th birthday! It's a milestone so we wanted it to be special, so we wanted to give her something she would remember," said AJ Antonio, a member of the fans club dubbed Kathniel KaDreamers World.

Padilla, who has been Bernardo's "love team" for three years now, drew shrieks among the guests as he assisted the young actress throughout the night.

A highlight of the event was the rumored couple's dance during the "18 Roses" segment, which had fans erupting in cheers.

"Masaya ako na ipinapakita nila kung gaano nila kamahal si Kathryn," the 18-year-old actor told ABS-CBN News. "At pinaghandaan talaga nila ito ng dalawang taon! Grabe, lumabas nang maganda! Pagkita ko, sabi ko, 'Wow, ah! May class, ah!'"

Bernardo, who was all smiles during the party, said she is grateful to her fans who came together to mount the event.

"Maraming salamat sa family ko, kay DJ (Padilla) and sa fans. Isa ito sa unforgettable day para sa akin," she said. "Thank you talaga dahil andyan siya (Padilla) to support me especially sa preparations ko for my debut!"

The "Got to Believe" star, who will turn 18 on March 26, added she is looking forward to her grand debut celebration on Saturday. The party, which is expected to gather Bernardo's showbiz colleagues and family and friends, will be telecast on ABS-CBN on April 6
