Lucy's POV
They keep me locked in a windowless jail cell on the boat. The time passes slowly. I think it's been about a week? I don't know. I just guess that every time I throw up it means it's morning. They don't feed me enough, the meals I get would've satisfied my hunger when I lived with my father, but that was before I was pregnant. I sit cross-legged on the floor, one hand resting gingerly on my stomach as the fingers of my other hand drum on my knee in boredom. When I don't think I can handle this solitary confinement anymore, just when I'm on the verge of going insane, a horn blows somewhere higher on the ship informing the crew that we'd arrived at the port. A big, muscular man comes into my cell and ties my hands behind my back and tosses me, much too roughly for my taste, over his shoulder. He carries me all the way into the castle and into another windowless cell. This time though, one of the walls is completely barred, allowing me to see the guards in front of the door at the end of the hall. The other three walls are cement but the two on the left and right of the barred wall have small, barred windows that allow me to see into the cells next to me. The cell block I'm in is completely empty. I can't believe it! I think to myself. I can't believe I'm his prisoner again! All of a sudden, the sound of a door opening at the end of the hall breaks me out of my thoughts. I recognize the heaving, thunking footsteps of my father. I nervously bring my hands up and gently rest them in my belly. I breathe a small sigh of relief that the man untied me before locking me up. I listen to his footsteps grow nearer. I look down and allow my bangs to cast a shadow over my eyes. "So," his terrible voice booms. "You decided to leave the wonderful life I so graciously gave you, and exchange it for a miserable, dirty life among pirates!" He spits out the word pirates like it's poison. "How could any member of my family ever bear to live among such lowlifes?"
His last sentence feels like a knife to my heart. "You're not my family," I say, chuckling bitterly as his large frame casts a shadow over me. "You were never my family! You never loved me!" I start to yell, but I remain seated on the floor. "The only thing I was to you," I look up at him, right into his empty, soulless eyes. "Was an object to make you money." I start to huff out of anger. I stand as he inserts a key into the lock of the cell. "I will never be your daughter! And you will never be my father!" The lock clicks and he swings the barred door open. "Fairy Tail is the only family I have and the only family I'll ever need!" I stare deep into his eyes and await his answer, to my horror, he laughs at me.
"You really believe they'll come for you? Pirates don't care about anyone but they're own! They'll just go back to marauding and thievery! That's what pirates are!" I feel frozen, I can't move I can't speak. It's as if he paralyzed me. "Let's face the truth shall we? You're better off here, marrying Dan, having kids, being what you were born to be. A queen." At the word kids, my hands go back to my stomach. "Besides, I heard about you being sick and vomiting on the boat. You wouldn't want to be on that old boat when one that runs as smoothly as mine brings you seasickness so easily." I feel a wave of nausea hit me and I turn and lean back behind me and puke all over the floor.
"It must be morning." I say aloud, forgetting that my father is behind me.
Realizing my mistake, I turn around quickly. It's too late, I can see the realization dawning on him as he puts two and two together. His eyes narrow and rage twists his features. "You're pregnant, aren't you!" He shouts, before I can speak, he yells even more. "You're pregnant with one of their children! You worthless brat! You are carrying the child of one of those lowlife Fairy Tail pirates!"
Something inside me snaps, I take a step forward and snarl back. "Natsu is not a lowlife! He is a better man than you will ever be! He's kind, generous, and I love him! And yeah he's the father of my child! But he will come and save me from you, you monster!"
I see fury burn in his eyes. He reaches for me, most likely with the intent to kill my unborn child, but loud thudding and the unmistakable sound of swords clashing stops him in his motions. A smile forms on my lips. Fairy Tail is here.
