Post WW1 Germany was close to giving up on the war and admitting defeat when a brilliant mechanic and chemist, Kuno Sauer, proposed the idea of a wooden army. The generals laughed at him, called him a fool, but allowed him to demonstrate his invention.

Dr Sauer, without hesitation, walked up to the front door and grabbed a large, rectangle-shaped box. Clicking and ticking noises filled the room, as the doctor dragged it to the middle of the bunker. He opened it and reached inside, pressing some buttons and twisting a silver knob, then stepped back to watch everyone's expression.

The creation, made out of wood and metal, arose. The sight of it making everyone shiver. It appeared as a little boy, wooden parts replacing his fingers and legs, his body made out metal. On the boy's face was a carved in smile, black liquid trailing down its metal chin and dripping on its bow tie, his eyes replaced with shattered light bulbs. His clothes, consisting of oversized pants and a tattered shirt, with a small green bow tie.

"Don't worry about Arnold, the black substance is just oil, it happens when I don't switch him on for a while. His limbs are mostly composed of wood since it's lighter but the core body is made completely out of light metal. Now..." Kuno opened a small hatch on the chest of the boy like contraption. Inside were lots of wires and gears but most prominently a swastika painted on a sheet of metal, that protected the motor. "Now my darling Arnold here took me about two days to make and all the parts I found in an abandoned trench. If you want I can explain how he works or," the doctor scratched his hair "how about I just demonstrate it to you?" He pressed a few buttons and the invention came alive.

After the demonstration, the doctor was planning to explain a few more things but the generals simply smiled uncomfortably and said that they'll have to present it to Furhah first. Kuno Sauer thought that this was an excuse to kick him out but little did he know that this was the beginning of a new era of creation...
