Cal POV
Mare and I wake up to chaos. I get up and so does Mare. We get dresses and head out to the field behind the castle. We walk out and see Elara. Her eyes zero in on both of us.
"Mare?" I ask but she is no longer next to me, her hand vacant from mine. When I look back to Elara I see Mare, being chocked.
I run over and whip out my sword. I charge it with all the lightning that it has left. I plunge it through Elara's stomach. She gasps and drops Mare, who begins coughing onto the grass. Soldiers are fighting four men who seem enhanced.
The grass is stained red. No longer the pure green it once was. However I see no blood leaking from Elara's wound. She turns to me and scowls.
"Is that what you did to your brother?" She asks ripping out my sword from her gut. "Did you plunge this through him?"
"Yes and I killed him." I say confidently. I have no weapon, and my wife is still recovering from being chocked.
"Well that won't work on me boy." She says and I fly backwards. I hit a tree however I'm on the ground standing, yet my legs are pinned.
Mare stands and looks at Elara's back. The clouds roll in faster then I've ever seen before. Elara looks up and looks at Mare. Lightning hits the ground, and rolls up into her hands! She looks pissed. Elara looks genuinely afraid, and so am I.
"Your beef is with me, not my husband." She says and Elara puts on her brace face. Any person would be terrified of Mare.
As soon as I think the lightning is going to stop it just keeps on coming. This is the most power I've seen her use. She is charging and looks beautiful. She looks absolutely haunting. Yet mean.
"Stay away from my family." She says and blasts Elara with all of her power. Mare is screaming but Elara screams louder. She is frying. Suddenly the hold on my legs is released and I find myself falling to the ground. I get up and summon whatever power is left from my bracelet. Fire comes spewing out of my hands and into Elara's body.
Suddenly all that remains of her is ashes. The skies clear as Mare releases her hold on her power. We both look at each other and see all the soldiers looking at us. Many are scarred and bloody, but they look at us as if we are gods.
Mare falls to the ground and I run over to her. I look at her face and see no damage done. Although mentally she must be exhausted.
I pick her up and carry her over to a nurse. We won.
