"James, who the hell was that?!" You shout at him, pointing to the spot the red-eyed man had confined the person with the mask. "And what the hell happened?!"

James goes to studdering and gesturing randomly, trying to explain himself in a way that didn't involve telling you everything. But that, of course, wasn't good enough for you.

"James, explain now!" Your voice kept getting louder and louder, irritation littering the low tone.
Examining your boyfriend, his chest was rising quickly and he was visibly biting his lip in agitation. There was shear determination and protectiveness in his gaze, which he kept on the spot the masked man had been while fumbling with the pockets in his cloak. His hands retrieved a box of matches, which happened to resemble a smaller version of an oak wood block stained red that could slid open to reveal friction lighting torches and a pack of cigarettes, also like a netherbrick box that flipped open to show white cylinders of paper surrounding glowstone dust. James quickly walked outside, and you slowly followed, unsure of what you were going to see. For a moment you stood right where he had formally been, confusion welling up inside of you before heading after the hacker.

You cast a glance about the entrance to the cave, remembering when James had first carried you here. Remembering when you first kissed, among other things. There had been suspicions in your mind that he wasn't who he said he was, wasn't who you thought him to be. But those had been shoved towards the back of your mind, lingering far from your everyday thoughts. What if, you mused slightly, you had been too trusting? This wasn't usually something you struggled with, but maybe you had been too fast to trust him. Strangers in a strange land. But you were also a stranger here, weren't you? Aren't you? And James had trusted you, hadn't he? So who were you to question his intentions? You thought to yourself, warring internally. There was a certain risk to staying with him, especially with all he's new thoughts an ideas.
Another real person? Someone like you? Was this normal?

The white-clad hacker exhaled to the right of you, spewing thick black smoke and light embers out in front of him, watching the pieces dance in the wind. Your eyebrows scrunch a little with sympathy. Your (F/M) had been addicted to smoking, and the whole family had paid the price. Losing respect, money, and the family member. Eventually (H/H) habits had led to cancer which also lead to death, which wasn't reversable. On the upside, now you knew where the glowstone stains on James' teeth had come from.

"James?" You ask quizzically, keeping your voice soft and gentle like he always did.

He nods his head once in acknowledgment. "That's my name, yes."

A small smile crossed your face at the heartless sarcasm, then disappears as you continue speaking. "What's wrong?"

He sighs, exhaling the embers and sharded bits of glowstone from his mouth. "I didn't want you to find out this quickly, (Y/N). Especially not this way." He mutters breathily, gazing out into the taiga.

You can't help but feel your head tilt in confusion. Maybe there was something he was hiding from you. Mentally, you shake your head, not wanting it to be true. You had always wondered if there was ulterior motives to James' game, but hadn't really thought much off it until now.

"Wh-what do you mean?" The words crack before leaving your mouth. "Who was that man?"

For a while, James was silent. Just breathing and staring outward at the landscape he had specifically chosen when creating the area. More like morphing it, but regardless. Eventually, you also turned your head to the horizon, letting memories consume you. All those things you tried not to remember came back to you in a flood of color (or black and white if you watched that kind of TV as a kid) and mumbled words and noises. Some of them were happy and made you smile for mere moments before being bombarded with things you forgot, and memories that were depressing and had changed your life. Your facial expressions changed rapidly as all the remembering passed through your concious at a quickened pace.

The hacker looked over at you and tilted his head, watching your emotions rush over you and change constantly. "(Y/N)?"

You place you hands over your head, gazing at the ground and trying to keep the threatening tears where they should be. Everyone present was confused as to what was happening, including your (H/C) self. After what seemed like an hour - but was just about a minute - James' arm wrapped about you, pulling you into a warm, comforting hug. Burying your head in his chest, you start to cry silently as he rubs your back. He realizes that calming you is now nearly impossible, at least for a little while. Taking a few steps to lead you back inside, he holds you close to him, the white cloak beginning to stain with tears. You, with your head still pressed against his chest, have to follow him back into the cave. Luckily for you, those tears had stopped and were now only present on the hacker's cloak. A soft, comforting chuckle rose from James' throat that shook your head ever so slightly, and you smiled a little. Before you knew it, you were laying atop him and snuggling into his form and yawning like a puppy.

Still giving off a quiet laugh, he sat you up and shrugged off his tear-stained cloak. You groan softly at the lack of warmth and the black-skinned man below you chuckles again, louder before pulling you back down on top of him. Once more, you cuddle into him and close your eyes. One of his hands comfortingly stroke your (H/C) head and you slowly drift off to sleep.

(Heyyo! I'm finally back! Enjoy the spam, y'all :3)
