How are you guys doing?
------
Suddenly, you were on the other side of the gorge. Purple teleportation particles floated about your body, slowly falling to the ground. You looked at your hands in amazement, watching the black fade back to your normal (S/C) skin tone. Notch gave you an impressed nod and wrote something down in the book he'd brought along with you.
A few hours ago you were still writhing in pain on a blood-and-saliva coated floor when Notch had come back, a glowing yellow potion in his hand. "Hey, (Y/N). See what I got?"
Hope flooded your (E/C) eyes as you realized what exactly the potion was. It looked nasty as hell to ingest, but anything to take away all that dreaded pain."Yes, it's the super healing potion." Notch couldn't help but chuckle at your excitement. "Can you sit up? I'd hate for you to choke."
Anger at his inconsideration welled up inside you, but you managed to get a good glare in. He bit his lip in thought and smiled, "Apologies."
You roll your eyes and prop yourself up as best you're able, which is enough to look Notch directly in the face and smirk triumphantly. The god chuckled at your smug smile and tugged at the cork holding the magical yellow liquid in the bottle from spilling out all over the floor and banishing you to eternal pain, making you tense as you watch his lightly tanned skin move around the cork and skillfully remove it from the lip of the bottle. He waved his free hand (the one that wasn't holding the bottle) at the bars of your cell, making them disappear. Actually, they transformed into air blocks, but technicalities.
Notch cleared his throat to gain your attention away from the missing iron bars, earning it quite quickly as your (E/C) eyes met his brown ones. You were ready for the pain to stop."Open wide," Notch advised, gesturing for you to tip your head back.
You do so, allowing your mouth to gap. With all the dried blood and drool on your arms, there wasn't a doubt in the God's mind that you couldn't keep a hold on the potion, much less hold it steady enough to drink, so he did it himself. You tried not to gag as the horridly tasting, sickly yellow liquid was pouring into your mouth and down your throat in a slow stream of disgusting fluid. The taste was like that off a rotten egg that had been peppered with cayenne pieces and coated in thousand year old milk, making you gag and cough. Dispite the terrible taste, you managed to fight through the disgust and swallow what had been poured into your mouth. Looking up at Notch to see his reaction, you swirled your tongue against your teeth to get rid of the remenants of the retched taste, only making it worse by spreading it all over your mouth. The god looks extremely impressed to see that you hadn't barfed up all the contents long ago (auto wanted it to say comments XD) and weren't still a sick green color."Feel any better?"
You cleared your throat, "Besides the terrible taste in my mouth," you paused, seeing as Notch's reaction was a steady smile, "I'm feeling great!"
Both of you had a victorious smile as you forced your adjusting body to rise to a stand, and wrap your arms around the bald god as a way of thanks. He returned the affectionate action and you felt a slight twinge of guilt, as if you were betraying someone by giving the kind movement. Pushing it to the back of your mind, you let go of him and backed a distance away, totaling to only a few steps.
Notch nodded at you, "Let's get you tested, hm?"
You returned the gesture and he started walking away, so you followed him. He lead you up the stairs, slowly exposing your underadjusted eyes to the brightness of normal lighting. You covered your eyes to protect them from the harsh, relentless light and blindly follow behind the hairless god, who occasionally glanced back at you to make sure you were with him. When the stairs finally ended, the floor had changed to pure, untainted quartz blocks and only made the area more blinding to your poorly adjusted (E/C) eyes. You hissed at the pain it brought to your eyes, even moreso at the headache that proceeded it.
Suddenly, a cold piece of what felt to be metal slapped onto your shoulder, the temperature low enough to invoke a shiver from you at first contact. You shot Notch a vicious glare before looking down at whatever he'd put on you, which seemed like a patch. It was labled "Frost Patch™" with a picture of a friendly, smiling snow golem above the sky blue words.
"... What even is this?" You asked calmly, which surprised even you.
Notch quirked an eyebrow, "You're not aware? I found a ton of them layered on your back. It seems as if you'd used them to keep yourself from freaking out at your situation."
You closed your eyes in concentration to search your memories. What you found was more than.. horrific.
"He drugged me..." You mumble softly, more under your breath than anything else.
"What was that?" He asked sweetly, though the undertone was a confusing one: mocking. Why was he mocking you?
You gave him a tried look of irritation and he shrugged, allowing the words to fade from the current conversation. Turning your thoughts to the current, you expectantly waited for your test to be revealed to you. The thought of having hidden abilities was exciting to say the least.
Notch easily noticed this excitement in your face and smiled in a way that wasn't particularly comforting before the world whirled around you, scenery randomly changing to show a rather large cage. It seemed to be a chunk in size, a sixteen by sixteen area, and surrounded by a ring of shiny iron bars, stained with blood and random charred marks from explosions or fighting. It was an arena.
Anticipation forced adrenaline into your veins, and the bald god tossed you a shiny gold sword, shimmering with enchantments.
--timelapse after a long duel because I will make a separate chapter for this and there's little space left unless I want a double sized chapter but it has to be published soon so no-- (it'll probably be chapter 16.5)
Exhausted and somehow now in the middle of a field of dead grass and yellow plants, you dropped the sword on the ground and breathed deeply. Notch stood a distance away, on the other side of a huge ravine. How the hell you were supposed to get across without falling into the darkness below, there was not an idea in your skull. You kept looking from the edge of the side you were on to the side the god was on in random hope that you might. Randomly, you were on the other side of the gorge, floating black and purple particles drifting to the ground around you. Grinning with pride because you had teleported all by yourself, you smirk at Notch in pure enjoyment. He chuckled at your happiness and nodded.
"See? You have powers indeed." He was quite wary of whatever abilities you had, which was evident by the way he kept distant from you as a safety precaution.
You nodded absentmindedly, excitement boiling up inside you."Come," Notch called, starting down into the gaping ravine, "Your next test is down here."
