Chapter 3 - After school and new rule

Rachel's pov:

Once school was over, I found myself lost among the sea of students outside. I was walking out to the car park next to Kat and Mandela. "Hey Ray! Would you like to come to my house for a couple of hours?" she asked me and I nodded "Of course, but give me one minute to let Jake know, so that he will not worry... Oh, there he is! Jake!" I called out to him and he came towards us, "Hey, Ray! Hey girls!" he says "Kat, Mandela, this is Jake, my childhood best friend. Jake, Kat and Mandela." I introduced them. Mandela shook his hand whereas Kat just stared at him. "H-Hi, nice to meet you." she stattered. "Nice to meet you too." Jake said and brought Kat's hand to his mouth kissing it. "Jake, I'm gonna go to Kat's for a couple of hours, okay?" I told him. "Okay then, I'll inform your mother. Bye!" he said as he got on his bike. "Thanks bro! Bye!" I replied smiling and he rode off. I looked at Kat and smirked "My, my... I see someone has a crush on my best friend..." I said and she blushed and walked away. I got into my car and pulled up beside hers. We then saw Bianca, Kat's sister, and her friend Chastity climbing in the back of Joey's car. "That's a charming new development." Mandela noted from the passenger seat of Kat's car. "It's disgusting." Kat remarked. "Vomit enducing." I went on. Suddenly, as we were going to pull up, Kat stopped because Michael had passed in front of her car. Pissed off, she shouted out the window "Remove head from sphincter, then drive!" and then we left together. After the drive to Kat's house, we were both sitting in the living room. "Hello Katarina. Make anyone cry today?" Kat's and Bianca's father asked as he entered the living room. "Sadly, no. But it's only 4:30." she aswered simply and he smiles proudly "...and who's your friend, if I might ask?" he asked politely, I stood up and held out my hand "Rachel Parker. Nice to meet you sir." I introduced myself and he shook my hand as Bianca walked in and kissed him on the cheek. "Hi daddy!" she exclaimed "Hello precious." Mr. Stratford responded. "And where have you been?" Kat asked "Nowhere." Bianca responded giving Kat a sour look. Mr. Startford, who hasn't raised his eyes from the mail, was inspecting a letter. "What's this? It says Sarah Lawrence?" he said, holding the envelope in his hands. Kat jumped up and grabbed it from him and ran across the room in a flurry of excitement, tearing it open and reading the contents silently. "Is this the application you were telling me about?" I asked and she nodded. "I got in! I got in!" she said happily giggling with delight. "You got in! Congrats!" I said and hugged her. "Uh, honey that's great. But isn't Sarah Lawrence on the other side of the country?" he asked "Thus the basis of its appeal." she responded. "Yeah. I thought we decided you were gonna stay here and go to 'U Dub' like me. Be a husky." he said adding a growl in for effect. "No, you decided." Kat clarified. "Oh okay. So you just pick up and leave, is that it?" he asked her. "Let's hope so." Bianca said brimming at the idea and Kat gives Bianca a spiteful look then smiles sweetly "Ask Bianca who drove her home." she says to her father and I crossed my arms watching the scene play out. "Kat, don't change the...drove?" Mr. Stratford cut himself off and turned to Bianca "Who drove you home?" he asked her. Bianca glares at Kat then turns to her father, "Now don't get upset, daddy, but there's this boy..." Bianca started, "Who's a flaming imbecile." Kat clarified, "...and I think he might ask me..." Bianca carries on, "Please. I think I know what hes going to ask you. And I think I know the answer: No. It's always no. What are the house rules? #1: no dating till you graduate. 2: no dating till you graduate. That's it." Mr. Stratford says making Bianca sit down in the other side of me "Daddy, that's so unfair." she whined. "Alright. You wanna know what's unfair? This is for you too." he said gesturing for them to sit on the couch. "This morning I delivered a set of twins to a 15 year old girl. Do you know what she said to me?" he asked. "I'm a crack-whore who should have made my sleazy boyfriend wear a condom?" Bianca fired. Mr. Stratford paused and thought for a moment. "Close. But no. She said: I should have listened to my father." he corrected. "She did not." Bianca stated. "Well, that's what she would've said if she wasn't so doped up." he continued, I chuckled. "Can we focus on me for a second please? I am the only girl in school who's not dating." Bianca stated. "Oh no youre not. Your sister doesn't date." he corrected. "Me either." I shrugged and Bianca looked at me and Kat. "...and I don't intend to." Kat stated. "And why is that again?" he asked pleased and pointed to Bianca, expecting Kat to justify him. "Have you seen the unwashed miscreants that go to that school?" Kat asked and Bianca looked at her. "Where did you come from? Planet Loser?" Bianca asked Kat frustrated. "As opposed to planet 'Look at me! Look at me!?'" Kat fired back. "Why don't you date, Ray?" Bianca asked looking at me. "Because I'm not in for a relationship right now..." I said and she scoffed. "Okay, here's how we solve this one. Old rule out. New rule: Bianca can date..." he started, Bianca lighted up and Kat looked upset, "...when they do." he stated, pointing to me and Kat. "But she said she's not looking for a relationship right now and Kat's a mutant! What if they never date?" Bianca asked. "Then you'll never date. Oh, I like that. And I'll get to sleep at night. The deep slumber of a father who's daughters aren't out being impregnated." her father replied very pleased with his new rule. "Wait, why am I involved in this?" I asked confused and he smiled. "Because you are family now... You're Kat's friend!" he said and then his beeper went off and he headed for the door. "We'll talk about Sarah Lawrence later." he said to Kat as he walked to the front door. "Fine." Kat hissed as she headed for the stairs. "Wait! Daddy!" Bianca called. "Gotta go!" he stated. "Kat, gotta go!" I called after her. "Okay, see ya tomorrow at school." she said. "Can't you just find some blind, deaf, retard to take you to the movies so I can have just one date?" Bianca yelled to Kat and then looked at me "Ray, please, can't you find a nice guy to take you out?" she asked sweetly. "Bianca I-" I started, but was cut off by Kat "I'm sorry. Looks like you'll just have to miss out on the witty repartee of Joey 'Eat me' Donner." she said sarcastically and I smirked. Bianca looked at her, "You suck!" she said and Kat mimicked the same words... "Well I have to go! Bye!" I said and left. "Bye!" I heard Kat say. Oh god, I have a feeling that this won't end well...
