Luke,
I'm sorry for the short notice. I'm sorry about this morning. I'm sorry for everything the past few months. I never meant to bring you into the mess with JT. I should have left when he hurt you. I should have left when we first slept together. It never should have gotten this far. Thank you for everything you've done for me the last few months and for being the friend I needed but I think we need some time apart.
Brit

"She's gone." Luke whispered to Charlie on the phone, his hand in his hair. "She left, all her stuff is gone." He was disheveled and confused. All he wanted was to come home and make up the past week to Brit. He had been neglectful, to say the least. "She's not answering my calls or texts. She's doesn't have work today so I don't know where she is."

"Why don't you call Talia or Amelia? Maybe they know where she is." Charlie sighed, not sure what to tell his friend. "Maybe she's just staying with one of them."

"She should be here."

"Luke, I can't fix this for you. You need to find her and do it. Maybe this isn't bad, though. Maybe it will give you some time to actually figure out how you feel. Maybe she needs that. You two are obsessed with each other."

"I just need to talk to her. I don't know why she left." Luke was flushed, his whole body had an unsettling feeling. Like he was falling apart.

"Figure it out."

Luke hung up and rubbed his face up and done. He just wanted to know what he did wrong? Why she left him.

He called her again but it went straight to voicemail again. "Brit, please just come back. I didn't mean to make you feel like this. You're my best friend, I need you." He tossed his phone to the side and laid back on to his bed. The bed she had been in for countless nights. He hadn't remembered the last time he hadn't held her at some point in the night. She was a comfort he didn't know he needed.

He didn't know if it was love. He had never really considered that. But he liked having her with him, she was his something he had been looking for to make his life a little bit easier.

"This is an intervention." Talia said to Brit when she sat on their couch, Aria on her lap. "We think you and Luke have a problem."

"We don't have a problem." Brit rolled her eyes, shaking her head at the two girls in front of her. "We just need to spend some time apart."

"He's called you 14 times in the last 4 hours. Sweetie, that's a problem. If I hadn't taken your phone, you would have already been gone." Harper sat in front of me. "We know you two have a different relationship. You care about each other but I think you're both avoiding something more serious."

"Why do you make it sound like I'm an alcoholic or something?" Brit scoffed, shaking her head. "Luke and I get along well, there's nothing wrong with that. We like being around each other."

"Brit, you can barely function if you're not with him. You are fidgeting without talking to him. I'm not going to tell you that it's healthy. You made a sex tape to get back at your ex and now you live with him. Whatever you do, he does. If you don't go to a party, he leaves early. Neither of you are seeing anyone else but you refuse to call yourselves a couple. You're avoiding feelings because you're scared of the same outcome as JT. Your relationship is unhealthy, even if you don't see it."

"You guys don't get it-"

"You took a week after you and JT broke up and then you started sleeping with Luke. You moved in with him. You never got to move on from JT. You've just masked it all with Luke. You need time to heal without him." Harper grabbed Brit's hand but she didn't want to be apart of this. She pulled away and stood from the couch. "Brit, we just want what's best for you."

"You don't know what's best for me!" She yelled, feeling tears begin to fall down her cheeks. This wasn't fair. They won't even let her talk to him.

"He's just going to hurt you! He doesn't care how you feel, Brit. He likes having you there to use. It's not about anything other than sex for him."

"You don't know him! You don't know anything about what we do or what we talk about or why we are the way we are." Brit wiped her face and took her phone from Talia. "I don't need help." Her voice cracked before she went upstairs to the room they had put all her stuff in.

She just wanted to give Luke some space. She didn't want to crowd Luke anymore. See him when he wanted to see her, instead of always being there. She thought that would be better. She didn't want to never see him. She just wanted something else.

She saw all his messages. All his missed calls. He was upset. He was angry. He wanted answers.

Brit. What is going on? Come home and talk.

Baby, I'm sorry if I upset you.

Why did you leave? Did I do something wrong? We were doing so good. I thought we were happy. If something was wrong, we should have talked about it.

Will you please explain some shit to me? You can't just leave and not answer me. I need to see you, babe.

The voicemails were heartbreaking. He sounded different. His voice was shaking and hoarse. Not like I had heard before.

"Brit, please." He took a deep breath and cleared his throat. "I guess I fucked up, huh? I knew this wasn't going to work out. I just thought maybe, I don't know. I thought you and I could figure stuff out. You make me happy, ya know? I just, um," he let out a shaky breath and Brit felt herself breaking down. "I'm sorry I couldn't be good enough."
