BritOlsen: he is my favorite person forever and ever. thank you for being my rock and loving me through it all. LukeBlack: I love you, baby. So happy I get you for the rest of my life.
"Mom, you can just tell me. I won't tell Brit. I just really need to know." I stood by the door, smirking while I watched Luke beg his Mom to tell him the gender of the baby. She had refused... for the 10th time. He'd been asking her all week and until tomorrow, neither of us can know. Tina was the only one that knew and I wanted it to stay that way.
I was at 5 and a half months. Neither of us realized how far along I was when I found out. I was already done with my first trimester, at that time. My belly had rounded out and I couldn't wear any of my jeans anymore. I stuck with leggings and t-shirt dresses. Luke didn't mind that I hung out around the house in my underwear, he even said I could be naked if I wanted to. I'd take him up on that offer in the next few months.
"Hey, guys." I spoke up, catching Luke by surprise when he spun around and stared at me. "What are you talking about?"
"My son is trying to bribe me into telling him what you're having. Little does he know, his just like his father and I learned his ways long ago." Tina laughed and I smirked at Luke when he frowned and rolled his eyes. I patted his cheek and shook my head. "Feeling better?" She asked me and I nodded. I had been nauseous the last few days and it was hard for me to enjoy food so Luke brought me to his Mom's and she made sure I was getting enough nutrients for me and the baby. It was a lot of smoothies and vegetables but I didn't mind. It wasn't making me feel sick, except avocados. They make me gag.
"The reveal is tomorrow, babe. You can't be patient for a little bit longer?" I sat on the couch and crossed my legs on the cushion. Luke sat next to me and wrapped his arm around my shoulders. "I wanna know too."
"I just want to know if it's Sebastian or Bailey." He frowned, laying his head on the back of the couch. "I mean, either way, I'm happy but I just really want to know."
"You are the most impatient human being I have ever met. You'll know in less than 24 hours so either stop asking about it and just be excited or I'm not telling you for another month." He rolled his eyes and stared at me like he knew me better than that. He looked like a child but it was kind of cute sometimes.
"I love you, baby." He chuckled, kissing my cheek before standing up from the couch and wrapped his arms around his Mom's shoulders. She patted his back and laughed. "You're the best Mom I could ever ask for."
"I know." She smirked, patting his back and I laughed, realizing just where his ego came from.

"BABY MAMA!" Jake called out when he walked into the decorated garden with gifts in hand. I laughed, placing my hand on my belly while I walked over to him. He hugged me tightly, rubbing my back. "Dude, Luke is probably the luckiest guy ever. You don't even look pregnant."
"Give it a few months." I laughed, patting his arm before he shook hands with Luke and patted his cheek, playfully. "Um, Talia is here. I hope that's ok." I smiled, sympathetically at him. He sighed, nodding before looking around. He had showed up to her house drunk one night and professed his love for her. She didn't reciprocate and he came over to Luke's house and was a mess. I think he really loved her and needed the courage to say it. A week later, she started dating a guy named Toby and Jake when ballistic. I told Talia she couldn't bring him today. I didn't want Jake to go crazy. This was about our baby. Luke agreed.
Talia had helped put everything together and Harper had made some of the decorations. Amelia hired a caterer. There were blue and pink macarons, chocolate croissants, fluffy and fruit pastries and tarts. I was so happy and excited. Luke and I both wore yellow, neither of us rooting for one or the other. Luke was nearly jumping out of his socks with excitement and I had to squeeze his hand every few minutes. Luke invited his family and friends from the gym. I invited my friends and some of my parents friends. Everyone brought diapers and bottles and small gifts that we would need.
It was probably the most exciting day of my life and I couldn't wait to see the colored confetti in the balloon. "10 minutes." Luke grinned, wrapping his arms around my waist. "I'm so ready."
"No matter what, we'll be happy?" I needed him to assure that he's ok with either one. He's said it a million times but I needed to make sure before we found out. I didn't want him to be disappointed in any way.
"We made a baby, baby. It's ours, we created it and I would do it all over again. I love you and whether it's a boy or a girl, whether it looks like me or you, whether it has a tail or some fucked up genetic thing, we made it and it will be perfect. He or she. And if in 10 years, they decide they don't want to be a boy or girl, it's ok because we still made them perfect. And if they hate me or decide they want to be a little rebellious, it's ok, because we made a perfect kid and no matter what, I'm happy." He said, his eyes dancing while he looked at me. The green emeralds glowing as he spoke about our child.
"You're such a good man, Luke Black."
"I gotta be when you're my woman." He kissed my nose and I grinned, standing on my tippy toes, kissing his lips softly. "I love you."
"Guys, please gather around! It's time!" Talia called out and Tina came out with a large black balloon. My heart rate picked up and I ran across the pavement to meet her. She handed it to me and then gave Luke a needle. "Ok," Talia clapped her hands as people flooded around, the photographer taking pictures of us while we waited anxiously. "We're going to count down from 3 and then Luke is going to pop the balloon."
I giddily held the string of the balloon and looked over at Luke while he bit the inside of his cheek. "Alright, 3...." the crowd yelled out and I looked over at Luke as he raised the needle and we both took a deep breath. "2..." we both smiled and at the last count, the balloon popped and Luke cheered loudly as the confetti fell. I laughed and he wrapped his arms around me tightly. I knew, this is what he wanted more. I think I did too.
