Afternoon with Luke

Recap on the previous chapter (Chapter 3: Detention): Luke convinced Ivory to skip detention with him. She agrees only to prove to him she's rebellious. Luke and Ivory goes somewhere on his motorcycle. As they hopped off the motorcycle, she doesn't recognize where they're at. He tells her to follow him and he leads her to this 'mystery location.'

Chapter 4: Afternoon with Luke:

I examined my surroundings as I followed Luke. I noticed we pasted a park. "We've been walking for a long time. Where are you taking me?" I asked Luke. "Be patient. We're almost there," Luke assured. Soon, I saw a medium sized building ahead. It looked like an entertainment building. When we reached the door I realized Luke had taken me to a roller skating rink. "Um I'm not very good at roller skating Luke," I admitted. He smiled and replied, "I'm a pro, so don't worry. I'll help you." We waited in a short line to get our roller skates. I had to use the restroom real quick, so I told him I'd be right back. He nodded in response, staying in line. I went inside the restroom and was shocked at how gross I look from the wind blowing on my face when I was on the motorcycle. I fixed my hair and quickly grabbed my 'benefit they're real' mascara out of my bag and swiped some on my eyelashes. Afterwards, I reapplied a new fresh coat of lip gloss. Finally, I examined myself in the mirror and smiled at the result. Although I don’t look beautiful like most girls at school, I still try to look as best as I could. 

As I walked out of the restroom, I spotted Luke in the front of the line. The guy was handing him some roller skates. When I reached him I said, "Hey, I'm done." He started to stare at me in awe, and didn't say anything back. I started to feel as if I did something wrong. I was about to ask him why he's not saying anything, but the employee interrupted me. "What's your shoe size gorgeous?" He winked at me. "I'm a size 8," I chuckled nervously. As the employee turned around to get the roller skates in my size I quickly examined him. He was a tall, blonde hair guy with a white collared shirt with ripped, dark wash jeans. He's actually pretty hot. As he handed me my roller skates, he spoke, "So my name is--" "Adam," I finished his sentence smiling. "Yeah. How'd you know?" He shockingly asked. "It's on your name tag silly,” I laughed. He looked down at his shirt and laughed. “Oh, I'm so clueless," he said smiling at me. Luke coughed and eyed at me angrily. "I didn't realized he was your boyfriend," Adam said looking back and worth at the two of us. I stared at Luke then back at Adam. I busted out laughing. "Oh Luke? He's not my boyfriend," I answered. "In that case here," Adam handed me my receipt and wrote his number on the back. "Text me if you want. I'm really hoping you do," he confessed. "Okay thanks," I giggled. I don't know what came over me. I usually don't act this way. I thought..

I was headed towards the roller skating rink and I noticed Luke acting really weird. "Hey, are you okay?" I asked. "He just wants to get inside your pants," he spat. I was so shocked. I sputtered back in rage, "How do you know? Can I not have a decent guy flirt and have interest in me? Am I not good enough to deserve that?" I didn't give him a chance to respond. I stormed off and felt tears forming in my eyes. I quickly blinked and wiped them away. 

I walked up to Adam. "Hey, do you have time to talk? I asked "I have all the time in the world for you," he flirted. I smiled, but deep down I was hurt from what Luke said earlier. We headed towards the roller skating rink together. I quickly glanced the place finding Luke. He was no where to be found. "Are you looking for that guy you were with earlier?" Adam questioned. "You do know he likes you right?" "What? Trust me, he doesn’t," I confirmed. "When I was flirting with you, he looked like he was going to punch me in the face. He was obviously jealous." Adam explained. Suddenly, I started to wonder what if he does like me. 

Skating with Adam was a blast. I’m pretty sure he was having a great time too, because he was smiling the whole time. I looked down at the phone. “Oh my gosh!! It’s 10PM,” I gasped. Adam chuckled, “Do you have to be somewhere? Late for a party or something?” I laughed and replied, “Actually…I have a curfew at 10:30.” He smiled, “Don’t worry, I’m not judging. Do you have a ride home?” I scanned the area for Luke. “It’s fine. I’m going to go look for Luke. Thanks though, bye,” I shouted as I began walking outside the building. 

I began to scan the perimeter. ‘Weird…Luke’s motorcycle is still here, but Luke is no where to be found.’ I thought to myself. I continued to search for him knowing that he must be somewhere around here. I was walking in a park near the rollerskating building when suddenly, I spotted a guy. I couldn't quite make out if he was Luke or not, because it was dark and the guy wasn't facing my way. “Luke! Hey it’s 10—“ I quickly glanced at my phone screen for the time, “10:10 PM and I need to be home before 10:30.” Luke didn't turn around, so I assumed he was just ignoring me. I continued, “Look, I’m sorry for whatever reason. I don’t really know why you’re ignoring me, but please just turn around and talk to me.” I tapped his shoulder and he turned around. I quickly realized it wasn't Luke at all. 

The man was actually around his fifties. He looked young from the back because of his dyed hair, but when his face contained many wrinkles. His old, frightening eyes watched my every move. I could almost feel his cold breath as I tried to step farther away. Slowly, he followed me. He smiled at me, his wrinkles letting me see his every expression. His smile reeked of wickedness, and something inside had told me he held many secrets. All I could stare at was his cold eyes as I was trying to distance myself from him. His eyes almost gray, and kept watching me. I just tried my best to fake a smile, but inside, I was terrified of this old creepy man. 

“Um sorry, I thought you were someone else. I’m just going to go and find him.”I mumbled. I began to run the other direction towards the rollerskating rink when the man kept walking towards me. As I was nearby, I tripped and fell on the floor. I tried to stand up to keep running, but a sharp stab of pain made me sit back down. “Help!! Someone please help me,” I shouted on the top of my lungs as I saw the creepy guy walk towards to me. The man chuckled and roared, “There’s no one here pretty girl.” He grab my arm and began to carry me. I closed my eyes and screamed while punching the stranger’s chest with all my might. All I did was scream, in fear, anger, and shock. My eyes closed. Never in my life have I felt so violated and fragile. 

All of a sudden, I was dropped to the ground. Instantly, an intense piercing pain shot all over my body. Every sound is magnified to a countless number as adrenaline pulsates through my veins with loud booms. I began to taste blood on my lips. All I could focus on is the pain. I heard someone attacking the man. Everything happened so fast. There was screams and shouting. As quickly as it began, it ended. There was no more commotions. It was as quiet as a mouse. I don't know what is happening because my eyes are are sealed shut. Abruptly, all my weight has been lifted by someone. Someone was carrying me, but I don't know who. I began to punch the person with all my might over and over. I felt nauseous and I was about to pass out. The moment my hands grew weak and I was about to give in, I opened my eyes. I expected to see my attacker with his cold-blooded gray eyes. Instead, I saw Luke. He must’ve been the one who rescued me from the creepy man. He was the person carrying me at the moment. “Luuuuukkkeee,” I slurred. All I saw was the concern look written on his face, then everything went blank.
