Betrayed Chapter Three

"Hey there" Will said with a grin.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"My family was invited by your mother" he said and a man and woman came. They both had black hair but only the man had topaz eyes. The woman had blue eyes.

"Hello there" The man said extending his hand to me. I took and shook it.

"Um hi there" I said and Mom came up from behind me.

"Carol, Steve great you could come. Come in" Mom said and I moved out of the way as they entered.

"Thanks for inviting us Sarah" Steve said.

"No problem it's my pleasure. My husband will be home later so come in while dinners cooking" Mom said and looked at Will.

"And you must be William. Nice to meet you" Mom said extending her hand.

"The pleasure is all mine Mrs. Punsalan" Will said taking her hand and kissing it. My mouth fell open as Mom blushed. She took her hand back as Zack came into the room.

"These are my kids Stephanie and Zackary" she said.

"Hello" Zack said.

"Stephie say hi" Mom said.

"Hi" I muttered and walked to my room.

"Stephie keep Will company while the adults talk" Mom said and I looked at her.

"Shouldn't Zack since he's a boy?" I pointed out.

"Alright then Zack you keep Will company" Mom said.

"Sure I'll show you Halo" Zack said and walked to his room with Will following him. I avoided looking at Will as he walked past and went outside. I went on the swing set and sat on the swing. I sighed as a small breeze came. When will this day end already! Another breeze came and I shivered. I felt warmth on my shoulders and saw Will had given me his jacket.

"You'll get sick if you don't wear it" he said.

"Thanks" I said and he sat on the swing next to me.

"Nice place" he commented.

"Thanks. What happened to your siblings?" I asked.

"They don't live with me. Those are my aunt and uncle" he said.

"I'm sorry" I said.

"It's ok. You didn't know" he said shrugging his shoulders.

"Do you miss them?" I asked.

"Yeah all the time" he whispered. Unconsciously I held his hand. He didn't flinch or even snatch his hand back. Instead he curled his fingers between mine. I looked at him and he smiled at me. He leaned closer to me and so did I. We were inches apart and I could feel his breath. I looked into his topaz eyes and they were swimming with desire.

"Your eyes are pink" he whispered to me and I giggled. Our lips almost touched but Zack came out and ruined everything.

"Eww gross get a room" Zack yelled out and Will pulled back. I blushed and glared at Zack and he pulled his tongue out at me. "Oh yeah and Mom said dinner's ready" he said before going inside. I didn't look at Will and went inside. Dad was home and he kissed my forehead.

"Hey Dad" I said and went in the kitchen and helped Mom serve dinner. I grabbed the plate of garlic bread and the gravy dipper. Mom placed the roast lamb in the middle of the table and I sat down next to Zack. Will sat across me next to uncle. His aunt sat next to Mom and dad sat at the end.

"This looks delicious Sarah" Steve commented.

"Thank you" Mom said and everyone dug in.

"Pass the gravy please" I asked and Will passed it to me. Our fingers touched and I blushed. I quickly grabbed the gravy and muttered thanks.
