"Hey" I said lowly
"Care for a ride?" He asked
"Well no thank you" I replied
"Oh come on, don't give me that it's obvious you want one with all the sweating" he said with a smirk. Now usually I'd just ignore him and walk away but right now I can't move or find the right word to say, I just gave in. Our ride was awkwardly silent and we only talked when he asked for directions. I wouldn't let him know where I stay, I thought to myself, so I'd make him stop three streets away from my house
"We're here" I said to him
"Ohh I see, so where's your house particularly?" He asked looking around, I randomly picked a house
"There" I said pointing to a black gate
"I'd like to say hello to mom" he said
"Which mom?" I asked with an attitude
"Our mom of course" he said grinning
"My mom, you mean?" I asked with a raised eyebrow
"Ohh okay your mom, you're good now?" He asked raising his hands in defense
"Never been better" I said looking away
"Okay let's go then"
"Umm... She isn't home" I answered quickly
"What about our dad?" He asked, I then glared at him "Your dad, I mean" he said immediately
"Why all this? We're done Mahmud"
"I'm not done"
"Well I am" I said folding my arms, there was silence and after a long silence he finally broke it
"How do I make it up?" He asked with tears in his eyes
"That's your business"
"Well can you at least please teach me how to run it?" He asked with tears now rolling down his cheeks
"I don't know how to" I said harshly
"You don't know? What do you mean you don't know?" He asked
"Because I don't and if you'd excuse me, my home is just few steps ahead, May I?" I asked gesturing at the door.
"Can I have a glass of water please? He asked after sniffing and wiping his tears
"What do you need it for? The mall isn't far from here you could get yourself a bottle" I said looking from side to side
"I need it for my drugs" he said
"Say what now? You do drugs?" I asked gasping
"No, yes... I'm ill" he said
"But you don't look that sick to me"
"That's because you don't know me, can you please just grant me my request it's almost past the time" he said angrily
"Okay...fi..fine, as you wish, as you desire, as you reques...
"Just get it already" he demanded
Oh my Allah! I'm in trouble, maybe I should just tell him the truth about my house, I stopped walking and turned back to him, I saw he was gasping for air, struggling. I walked away immediately and went to knock at the gate, after several knocks I heard the barking of a dog. A dog! I thought to myself, I hate dogs ever since I was chased by one when I was young, the fright of dogs never left my mind. I turned to run when the gate was opened revealing a tall bulky man with an eye holding the dog with a chain, if he lets go of the chain I'd be doomed, the dog kept pacing back and forth but braked with the chain.
"Yes, how can I help you?" a deep raspy voice asked"Ehm, goo...good morning, I mean good afternoon Sir. Please sir I'm looking for Nabeela, no I mean Nafeesa" I said looking from him to the dog time to time, I was literally shaky
"Which one you dey find?" He asked
"Nabeela sir" I answered with a shaky voice
"Okay you may come inside" he said smiling revealing his lost tooth and I smiled back awkwardly to make it seem real, I couldn't go through the gate because the dog kept barking and looked me like it was going to tear me apart if set free. "Ahn ahn na this small dog you dey fear? E no dey bite o" the man said laughing, I laughed back awkwardly but didn't move an inch
"Make I chain am for in house" he then dragged the dog forcefully and locked it up "Oya come pass fear fear" he said laughing and I of course returned the laugh like a sheep "Wetin be your name sef?""Aminah" I said with a smile
"Eyyah Aminah the fear fear" he smiled
"Thank you" I smiled and entered the house only after saying silent prayers
"Assalamu alaykum!" I said entering the main entrance"Wa'alaykm salam" I heard people answered, I then spotted a lot of guys in the house and looked down at my toes
"How can we help you?" They all asked, I was too shy to respond until one of them stood up and approached me
"Nana?" He asked"Yes?" I answered more like a question, looking up I saw the cab stranger, "Kabeer?" I asked astonished
"Na'am! Ikon Allah! Allah ya kawo ki gidana, what brings you to my home?" He asked
"She said she dey look for Nabeela" only God knows how the gateman got into the house and the conversation
"Okay let me call her" Kabeer said "Beelah you have a guest" he called out
"Coming" I heard a girl responded
"Have a seat then" he said
"No thank you, I'd be on my way now" I declined with a smile
"Yes?! Sorry who are you?" Nabeela asked squinting her face trying to recall my face
"Oh I'm so sorry I got the wrong house" I said leaving
"No wait, how about a little formal introduction" she requested
"Yeah sure. I'm Salima and I guess you're Nabeela" I said shaking her hands
"Please call me Beelah, I see you've met my brother Kabeer" she said smacking him
"Oh yes we have" he said smirking
"Meet my other brothers, Khaleefah, Khalil,Khalid and Mukhtar" she pointed at each of them while calling their names
"Nice meeting you Salima" they said together"Nice meeting you too" I said smiling, and then I remembered my purpose of been in there "Can I please have a bottle of water?" I asked Beelah
"Yeah sure, anything else?" She asked
"No thanks that'd be enough" I answered smiling and in no time she returned with the bottle of water smiling
"Thanks""Mention not Salmz" she replied, making us laugh
"I'd take my leave then" I gestured at the door
"I'd walk you to the gate" Beelah offered
"And I'd walk you to your house" Kabeer offered, making Beelah to glare at him
"Just kidding, let's walk you to the gate" he said"Thanks again" I said to them
"Anytime" they responded. Let me have your contact Beelah requested
"Yeah sure" we exchanged contacts and I spotted Mahmud still seated where I left him
"What kept you so long?" He asked
"I had to handle my siblings, here you go" giving him the bottle
"I have to go now, the house is a mess, talk to you later" I said almost immediately"Yeah sure talk to you soon" he said driving away
Phew Thank God I wasn't busted I thought to myself"Who was that?" A random voice asked
"Huh?" I turned around and sighted Kabeer frowning
Another one! I would be updating often In Shaa Allah. Hauwer loves you
