Wait What?

Everyone has been calling me asking if I was pregnant, I don't know what's wrong with people, I mean I barely just got married. I was advised to go see a doctor just in case I was pregnant and didn't noticed it. Even though I know I wasn't pregnant I went anyways

"Mom's visiting tomorrow" Kabeer said looking at his phone "Oh really? I can't wait" I squealed and he looked at me like am crazy which I am. I cleaned the house with the help of my darling husband "I'm going grocery shopping, do you want anything so I could pick up?" I yelled from downstairs "Nah I'm good" he yelled back, I got into the car and left. Kabeer's been acting strange these days and I'd have to look into what he's been doing lately. My visit to the shop was brief because we have most of what we needed and so I left for home immediately. Beep beep* I honked for only God knows how many times before the gate opened

"Welcome madam" Dawood the gateman greeted "What kept you so long?" I asked furiously "Na the other madam send me" he replied and I was confused "Other madam?" I asked "Yes ma" he replied. I was going to toll him with questions but I need to know who the other madam is first, I saw a jeep packed in the middle of my compound and I've never been so curious all my life

Walking to the front door, I heard chattering between Kabeer and 'The other madam' oh somebody is going to die today I flung the door opened and stormed at them, sighting them I dropped my bag in disbelief and I raced towards her

Embracing her into a hug "I miss you mom" I said "I miss you more my darling" my mother in-law said pecking my cheeks "I thought you said she was coming tomorrow?" I asked him and he shrugged "I couldn't wait till tomorrow, I've been in Abuja for a while now" she replied "And you didn't tell us" I pouted "I'm sorry my darling, I had business I had to attend to" she said calmly I smiled hugging her again

"Let me cook something for you" I offered standing and she pulled me down "There would be no need for that now, there's something I'd like to discuss with you" she stated and I nodded "Is anything the matter? How was your trip to the doctor?" She asked and I said what I've been saying for a while now "It was fine. Everything is fine" I replied "Then why haven't you conceived yet? Nobody from the Royal home stays this long" she said concerned

"Tell her the truth Salima" Kabeer said "What truth?" I asked irritated "What are you talking about?" She asked "It's nothing mom" I replied "You guys had better start talking" she threatened "Talk Salima" Kabeer said ranging and she looked at us confused, I sighed "Uhm..actually we haven't uhm done it" I said really embarrassed "Done what?" She asked still confused, I looked at Kabeer for help but he looked away "We haven't done what couples do" I replied now fully embarrassed and she gasped "Made love?" She asked and I nodded "It's been eight months, are you kidding me?" She asked with disbelief glancing at Kabeer to give her a disapproving look but he had the same face as me, flushed with embarrassment

"Why? How? What's the problem?" She asked with confusion and I only looked away shyly "There's actually no problem" Kabeer said nervously "What's the matter my dear? Is he the problem? Is he not man enough" she asked me making Kabeer scoff and my cheeks were flushed from embarrassment "Everything is fine mom. We're just waiting for the right time" Kabeer replied "And when is the right time?" She asked furiously darting at him"It's not his fault mom" I replied "It's okay dear, if he isn't a man you can let me know, remember no secrets?" She said by now I was full of embarrassment, he groaned

"I'm a man mom" he replied dumbly "Then if you're a man why not perform your duty as a man and give me a grandchild" she yelled and I'm grateful our house was big enough for the neighbours not to hear "It's my fault" I said quietly "No need to hide secrets from me, you know?" She said "No mom it's actually my fault, I told him to wait" I replied and she looked at me like I grew two horns
