"What are you doing here? I thought me were meeting at the party?" Hailey asked as I walked into her bed room.
"I had to sneak out. My mother wouldn't let me go. She wanted to go to some church bake sale, or something." Hailey slapped my shoulder with a surprised expression on her face.
"You snuck out?"
"Yes. Now let's get ready. I want dinner before the party." I plugged in my hair straightener and washed my face from all makeup from the day.
Hailey was running around behind me trying to her herself read. I ran the straightener through my shoulder length black locks.
Moving onto makeup I applied a sparkly eye shadow with lots of glitter to match my dress. Thick bold liner lined my eye lids and there wasn't even one clump in my mascara. Lastly I smothered my lips with dark red lipstick.
I checked the time. We had an hour to eat and make it to the party when it starts exactly.
My phone then lit up with a picture of my mother. I couldn't deal with her right now. I flipped my phone off and slipped it into my clutch.
"Let's go."
"Where do you want dinner from?" She asked picking up her big purse. Why was it so big?
"I don't care. Something light. I'd like to try to not throw up four shots in." I said with a smile.
"McDonalds it is then." She said and headed for the nearest McDonalds.
I scarfed down my fries and drank all of my Coke. Hailey parked her red Jeep down the road from the party where the rest of the cars were parked.
I heard the music from the lawn. People were out in the yard, talking, dancing, making out. We walked up to the door and was about to knock when the door opened and a teenager flew out the door vomiting up his guts in the tulips.
"Poor tulips." I winced.
We took the open door and slipped inside. "Look what I brought." She pulled out a bottle of vodka. "Here, hold it. I'm going to get us shot glasses."
I sat down on the couch between two strangers. One was on his phone and the other was eating something. She saw me eyeing it.
"Want some?" She asked. My stomach rumbled. I guess the small fry wasn't enough.
"What is it?" I eyed it curiously. I couldn't see well in the dim lights.
"Something sweet I found in the fridge. Its really good." I shrugged and she broke off a piece and handed it to me. I shoved the whole piece in my mouth. It was a brownie. Oh, no.
Then it clicked. It was a pot brownie. I internally cursed myself.
"I think that had weed in it." I said to her.
