Bad News

[Nina's POV]

Now Amber and Alfie have to suffer fates for 3 days. This is getting out of hand. The next day, Amber and Alfie climbed out of Amber's bed and grabbed her hairspray. "Ambs, why do we need this?" Alfie asked desperately trying to get an answer. "Joy said she would help since we're kinda stuck."

They wiggled together out of the room as I couldn't help but smile. I remembered the events from last night, Joy tried to ruin our date! How could she? I fell back in bed because I was really tired and didn't feel like getting up. On the bright side, no school today! My phone buzzed. I answered it calmly.

[Fabian's POV]

I left my room to go get breakfast. Honesty, I didn't feel like eating, I just wanted to see my fiancée. I wonder if the others know we're engaged? I shouldn't think about that, we only have 3 weeks to find the Gem of Horus, or Nina's done for.

After not seeing Nina at all, I whispered to Eddie. "Where's Nina?" He shrugged. I went upstairs hoping that Nina would show herself. I knocked on the door softly. "Nina, are you in here?" I didn't hear a response. I peeked inside to see my girlfriend in her bed, sleeping.

I sat on her bed and kissed her cheek. "Hey, Beautiful." She didn't wake up. I figured she was just tired from last night. I stayed in her room for several hours until she would wake up.

Several hours later...

Nina still hasn't woken up yet. I'm really worried about her. I kissed her cheek again, but she would not wake up. I started freaking out. My girlfriend hasn't even moved one bit. I called out to her. "Nina! Wake up! Please!" I started to cry. I heard a buzz.

I found her phone on the floor and rummaged through her messages. One was from the hospital. I called them back. "Hello?" "Nina Martin? Is that you?" "No, this is Fabian Rutter, her boyfriend..." "Oh, is she alright? I was talking to her and then I got no response." I looked back at Nina. "She's not waking up at all. What's wrong?" "I called her to deliver some bad news."

I held my breath and asked softly. "What bad news?" "Nina's Gran is dead..."

I told the person on the phone if we could get an ambulance out to Anubis House since Nina hasn't woken up yet. She had agreed.

[Nina's POV]

(Before Fabian came up)

I answered my phone with my hands shaking. "Hello?" "Miss Martin? This is Nurse Felicity. I have some rather bad news." I sat up on my bed, my voice shaking. "What is it?" "Your Gran wanted to come and see you as a surprise...but she just didn't have the energy...I'm very sorry to have to tell you this, but..." I almost fell off the bed before getting to the end of the conversation, so I held onto my nightstand. "Miss Martin, your Gran is dead..." At that point, I couldn't breathe.

I started hyperventilating...I couldn't believe it, Gran is dead? It can't be! I fell backwards and fainted at this terrible event.

[Fabian's POV]

The ambulance got there 10 minutes later. Amber and Alfie came out of the living room, Patricia and Mara from the kitchen, Eddie and Mick from our bedroom and KT from outside; Joy and Jerome were no shows. I got into the ambulance with Nina, and we drove off to the hospital.

We arrived 5 minutes later and nurses crowded around Nina, blocking my view of my girlfriend. I followed them to a room to be there for Nina. They told me to stand off to the side so they could check her out. A familiar nurse, maybe the one I talked to, called out.

"Nina's blood pressure is 70/40 and dropping!" I started to freak out. Nina was in really bad condition. I started crying when I heard something that forced me back into reality. "Fabian...need....water...." I looked up to see Nina awake, but hyperventilating.

I started yelling at the nurses. "Get Nina water now!" A security guard came and escorted me out of the room and told me to wait in the waiting room. Great. Now I got kicked out for trying to help my girlfriend. Trudy, Amber, Eddie and Patricia made it to the hospital, but they weren't allowed in either.
