I grabbed my curling wand and began curling my long black hair. After I finished curling all of the sections, I tied half of my hair back and grabbed my keys. I ran downstairs and told my parents that I was going somewhere with Maverick. They told me not to rush to get back home again. I laughed and kissed both of them on the cheek. I gave Mikey a treat and gave him a kiss on his forehead. " Be a good boy while I'm gone ok? Don't give grandma and grandpa a hard time," I whispered to him. "I heard that," my parents yelled at me in unison. I laughed and slipped on my shoes and stepped outside.
I decided to wear some black pants, a black tee shirt, and some white converse. I also brought a small black bag to keep my things in.
I walked to the park and waited for Maverick to arrive. We decided to make the park the designated meet up spot whenever we go out or just want to hang out. It was an open space where we could easily spot one another.
I saw Maverick's black car pull up a couple feet away in the parking lot. I didn't approach it just to be safe. I hadn't gotten a text from him yet so I wanted to be cautious.
I saw a figure exit the vehicle. I recognized Maverick's black hair and stature and began to approach him.
"Hi!" I said, tapping his shoulder. He turned around and smiled widely.
"Hey! How are you? Feeling better?" He asked, pulling me into a hug.
"Yeah, I'm ok now. I plan on letting our second date last the whole day," I replied, wrapping my arms around him.
When his arms wrapped around my waist, I felt my stomach jump. I inhaled his scent. His hair smelled incredible, and I became sad when he broke our connection.
"Let's go! I'm sure you'll love the place we're going to. It's beautiful," he said.
We walked over to his car and he held the door open for me.
"Thank you," I said as I stepped into the car. He quickly ran over to the driver's side and hopped in. He started the car, and soon we were on the road.
"How far are we going?" I asked, looking over to him.
"It's an hour long drive, but trust me, it's worth the wait," he replied.
"I love long car rides. Especially since we can get to know each other now," I smiled.
"I brought us some snacks," he said. "They're behind my chair."
"Thanks. I'm not really hungry right now, but do you want me to get you something?" I offered.
"The Twisted Pretzels please," he replied.
I grabbed the bag from behind his seat and searched for his snack. Once I found it, I put the bag of snacks back and opened the Twisted Pretzels' package. I turned the bag toward him so that he could grab some, but instead, he said, "I don't really like to take my hands off the wheel. Can you just hold them up to me please?" He asked, nervous for my answer.
I didn't say anything, and instead just grabbed a pretzel and held it up to his lips. He snatched it with his teeth and thanked me. I giggled and handed him another one. Before he could even chew on the first one, I handed him several pretzels in a row until his cheeks were stuffed with them.
He was trying not to laugh and forced himself to chew on the crunchy snack.
"You're mean," he said, pretending to look mad.
I laughed and placed the opening of a water bottle up to his lips. He gulped down the water and thanked me again. I nodded and set the food aside and began asking him some questions about himself.
"So how old are you?"
"Eighteen. What about you?" A couple months older than me I guess.
"I'm seventeen," I replied.
"What a baby," he teased.
"I'm not a baby!" I whined. He laughed at the fact that he proved his point. His laugh was amazing. His voice was amazing. Everything about him was amazing. He's an amazing friend, I reminded myself.
"What's your favorite color?" I said, continuing with my questions.
"Black. You?"
"Black as well."
"Can I ask you something Bee?" He asked. I nodded in reply.
"Do you have a boyfriend?"
