A month passed. Nothing abnormal had happened within that time period. By then, I had almost forgotten about the whole incident. Almost.
It was a Friday night in the middle of June. I was located in my room, sitting at my desk. My eyes didn't want to close and my mind didn't want to rest. I possessed too much energy in my body from all the coffee I had drunken that morning. That was a good thing too.

Gripping my bag, I pulled out a book for school. Yes, my school assigned a bit of homework over the summer break. We were required to read at least five books on a list they handed out on the last day of school.
After about twenty minutes of reading about the theories of Shakespeare's ways, I didn't realize that I was falling asleep. Of course, eventually, my head started to tilt. With the sudden movement, I felt the jerk and that had awoken me from my partial state of rest. "Ok, fine.." I relented to myself, "I'll finish it in the morning...."
My body ached when I stood up. Exhausted, I set the unfinished book on the table beside me.
I was about to walk over to my bed and settle down in it, when my eye glanced out the window. My body froze and I felt chills entering my body. What I saw triggered my flinch. My eyelids opened wider as I saw the figure just standing outside, facing me.
Before I could tell if it had been watching me, it swiftly ran back into the trees.
My hand reached for my phone, but I realized that they would probably be long gone when the police arrived. It was stupid, but I felt the need to follow that person, or thing. A sudden burst of fury clouded my mind. How dare they just spy on me and my house. What a sick, weirdo. Knowing that I had to catch this strange being in order to stop being watched occasionally, I ran out of the comfort of my safe warm house, in hopes of tracking down this mysterious stranger. Yes, I knew this was dangerous. Yes, I knew there were slight chances of me never coming back. I was stupid enough anyways to go into those woods.
Upon my arrival in the large area of vegetation, The wind greeted me with a cold gust. As my eyes saw the blackness of the shadows, I became unsure. Looking back to my house, I began to miss being in its warm, safe presence along with my mother. But I knew that I couldn't cower out and miss catching this culprit. My legs forced on, through brushes and over tree roots.
Wanting to get a better view of my surroundings, my eyes traveled across the forest. It was dark, but I had gotten used to the lack of light. Tall trees were sprouted along as far as the eye could see. I would have to be cautious of not getting lost.
My voice called out for the person "HEY. YOU, THE ONE WHO WAS WATCHING ME, COME OUT NOW." It probably wasn't the smartest thing to do, but my thoughts couldn't conjure up any other ideas.
I knew it was stupid and that I probably wouldn't get anywhere with what I was doing. My mind was too full with anger towards the person. In hopes of finding this person, I stayed determined.

As I walked further into the forest, my eyes settled on a patch of light. As I neared it, it seemed to crackle and sway. It was a campfire. When I had fully arrived in the clearing, I saw tents lined around the fire. The tents were dirty and tattered. There were many rips and tears in them as if they were mauled by a bear. As I walked by the campsite, I took a quick glance inside the remains. No one was there. An unpleasant feeling entered my gut. Feeling uneasy, I decided to get out of there as soon as possible.
Before I left the area, I decided to scavenge for goods. I know it was wrong considering it was theirs, but it didn't look like they'd be back anytime soon. After a few minutes of looking, I managed to find a pocket knife and a few energy bars. I ate one, then stuffed the rest in my sweater pocket. Then, I took off out of there as soon as possible.

After a few hours of walking around, doing nothing, I decided to call it a night. I admit I was stupid to run out here with god knows what. Spinning my body around, I began heading back. The only problem was that I had no idea where I was going. All I knew was that I was deep in the forest, far to deep to head back. My mind scolded myself for not keeping track of where I was heading. I shivered and felt both the cold and fear. I stayed frozen there, not knowing what to do.

My voice called out for anyone in case they were there. No response. I stopped when I saw a person only a few feet away from me. As I began walking up to them, I called out to them. They didn't respond, so I just kept walking to them.

"Hey, you oka-" my voice cut off when I turned them around. What I saw pretty much answered the question I was gonna ask. It was a little too late for that. The human, or what was left of it, was missing their head, as well as a couple limbs. All I could find was was a mauled up torso.

Instead of flinching, I just stared in shock. Maybe they were one of those poor campers. The stinging of my arms caused from the cold of the night became too much. I felt sympathy for the person, but knew that whatever or whoever did that was not who I wanted to meet at this time of night.....or anytime....
I felt afraid to call out anymore, in case the attacker heard me. I was stuck wondering around aimlessly in the woods. My body settled on sitting by a boulder. Uuugh.....why had I been so stupid......I should've fought the urge to venture out in these woods. I didn't know what the hell I was doing. I heard some twig snap and my head jolted up. After my head, the rest of my body got in a defensive stance. I pulled out that pocket knife I had been keeping in my pocket.
"Come out!" I commanded, sounding more fierce than I intended. My eyes were prepared for the attacker to come rushing at me all of the sudden. Nothing happened. It was silent. Maybe it was just a squirrel. I was slightly disappointed but more relieved. My head turned around to be met with something hard coming in contact with it. I grunted in shock and horror, before all my vision could see was black.
