3rd Person's POV

4 Years Before

(Y/N) sat at the small kitchen table , eating cereal. She grumbled at the thought of going to school, but decided to not focus on the near future. Glancing at her mother running all over the place with papers and clipboards in her hand. The thirteen year old chuckled. Her mother was always constantly worried about her, never taking the time to worry about herself. They weren't exactly the richest people, since (Y/N)'s father left them. He was a great financial support. Without him, they were struggling. Because of this, (Y/N) felt rather below the average teen.
She looked up as her mother called her for school. (Y/N)'s mother didn't like the school's bus systems. There had been stories of kids getting robbed at the bus stops in a neighborhood near theirs. (Y/N) sighed as they came upon the familiar building of her school.

After (Y/N) had gotten settled in at her desk for class, she noticed the empty seat in the back of the classroom. She stared at it, then turned her attention to her friends. They talked a bit. Their conversation blended well with the other morning chatter in the room. As the bell rang, her friends took their seats. The teacher began to take attendance. (Y/N) looked up from sketching when the teacher called out a specific name: "Jeffrey Woods?". No answer. (Y/N) had never heard of a guy named that that went to her school. The teacher scribbled something down and finished calling out names. Moments later there was a knock on the door. The door opened and (Y/N) saw a boy she had never seen before. "Are you Mr. Woods?" asked the teacher. The boy nodded and the teacher introduced him to the class. The teacher excused him for being late and he sat down in the empty chair. He had an unreadable expression, but (Y/N) felt his uneasy aura.

At lunch, she saw him sit with a boy she assumed to be his brother. The girl kept studying them, until they saw her stare and she quickly turned her head. The sudden sound of the loudspeakers, made her jump. "According to an unknown witness, some students of ours have had an accident near one of our bus stops. Therefore, school will be released early." announced the principle. Instantly, the chatter in the cafeteria became more intense. Sudden movement attracted (Y/N)'s attention and she  saw the Woods brothers cleaning up their lunches and leaving.  Curious, she followed them. They stopped in a hallway away from all of the commotion. The girl stopped behind the corner.

"Jeff, you idoit! We'll get arrested!"

"I-I'm sorry."

"You should've just let them take the money. What's wrong with you?"

"I-I don't know.. But, Liu..... I couldn't just stand there and let them walk on us!"

Liu sighed, "Well.....we'll just have to lay low for a bit and-"

(Y/N) must've extended her head out to far because they were both looking in her direction. "I-....." Jeff stuttered. "Isn't that the girl who was staring at us earlier?"  The alarmed (Y/N) realized they both were slowly stepping towards her. She took a step back and soon she was slammed by her collar to a locker, knocking the wind out of her. She let out a soft cry of surprise. The slightly taller one gasped in shock, "Jeff!"  Jeff ignored him and demanded in a more gruffer voice, "How much of that did you hear?!" "I-I..." the girl stuttered "Spit it out!" Jeff snapped getting more aggressive by the second. "All of it!" she gasped. Jeff growled like a vicious dog. After a moment of intense breathing, the violent boy neared his face to hers, pulling on her shirt collar even tighter. "Don't tell another soul, got it?" (Y/N) nodded and was released. She ran out of there as fast as possible.

(Y/N) was running so fast, she ran into a girl  and  they both collapsed on the hard tile floor. She apologized quickly and recognized the girl as Jane Arkansas from her class. "Oh sorry, Jane!" "I-It's alright. I'm fine.." she seemed phased by something. "Hey, are you sure you're okay?" (Y/N)  asked. Jane hesitated for a second before speaking, "Stay away from those Woods brothers......especially Jeff..." (Y/N)'s stomach churned. "What do you mea-" "I saw him beat up Randy and his crew very severely!" she blurted out. (Y/N)'s eyes widened. She knew they were pretty fishy. That would be the only explanation for their actions only a few minutes ago. "Just...." Jane stuttered. "Just be careful around them!"  "......O-ok!' (Y/N) swallowed hard. Her classmate briskly walked off, still stinging with alarm. The other girl stumbled a bit and realized lunch was over. She slowely started to approach the classroom door of her next class, unable to think of anything else but Jeff and his vioent ways.
