My eyes opened to a sunlit room. My room. My hand reached to rest on my head. There was a sort of aching sensation. I guess you could call it a headache. The first thing that came to my head was the dream, or was it more of a memory? All I could really remember was back when I was younger, thirteen to be exact. I couldn't remember much after that. My mother and I had moved to another part of the state weeks after.

I sighed. Another day of hard training was about to unfold. I relaxed my head back into the pillows of my bed. Mind as well enjoy these last few minutes of comfort while they lasted. I didn't realize I had started to drift in my sleep. Before I knew it there was a hard knock on the door. "Open up!" It was Jeff. I cringed and got to the door where the furious knocking still pounded from the other side. My hand reached for the door when a blade spliced through the wooden door. I stood there, paralyzed with shock. "What the hell, Jeff?!" All I heard from the other end was a frustrated grunt. Hesitating, I swung open the door only to be pinned up against the wall with a sharp point at my back. I grunted in surprise. "What did I tell you about being late for training?" He said through clenched teeth.  "I-I know...I-I'm sorry..." I stammered. He sighed in annoyance.

"You know, you don't have to keep doing that.." I mumbled. "Doing what?" he demanded. "You know, threatening me with that 'big, scary' knife of yours." Scoffing, he turned to face me, "Do you seriously doubt that I can't kill you, right here, right now?" I shrugged. "Well, kinda, yeah. You know you're  not permitted to do so. Slender's rules." A loud groan escaped his lips. I bit my lip. Although he wasn't allowed to, he could've ended me just like that if he wanted to. We just stood there, glaring at each other.

"Whatever, let's just go," he mumbled out. Finally. I'd been waiting for those words so I could escape this awkward moment. The trek wasn't as tiring since I had grown used to walking to that limit. Still, it got my heart pumping. Panting, I smiled when we finally arrived at that familiar place with the big 'ol tree in the middle. My head turned to the stern as always killer.  His eyes focused on me. "Ready?" he asked with a hint of uncertainty. I nodded, still embarrassed from my previous fails to handle a weapon. He handed me a gun. remember what we practiced. I exhaled and closed my eyes. My arm guided the gunpoint in the direction of the target. My throat swallowed hard. After another deep breath, I pulled the trigger. The boom echoed through the field and I shut my eyes. I braced myself for the result in missing the target. Jeff spoke and to my surprise, he didn't sound upset.  "Holy shit."  I checked to see and the old worn dummy actually had a new bullet hole in it, right in its heart area. I had done it. My mouth let out a real loud whoop and I fist pumped. "Try again," Jeff ordered, demanding more proof that I could do it. I focused to shoot a second time, but he stopped me. "Use this~" he handed me a knife. The smirk on his face told me that this would be a harder challenge to pull off.  My eyes focused on the target. I could hear my own heartbeat. Grunting, my arm swung forward while my hand released the blade.

*CHK*

The knife was wedged itself in the outer edge of the target. A half smile crept up on my lips. I could not believe my eyes. I had actually managed to hit the target with two different weapons. Jeff looked somewhat surprised. His arms were crossed and his fingers tapped his arm. He let out a sigh, "Well, it's progress...Again." he ordered.

The day passed quickly. My throwing had gotten somewhat better within time.  Jeff still stated that I needed a whole lot more practice to be an 'exceptional' fighter.  Grunting after throwing another knife at the tree, I kneeled to regain my strength. Jeff let out a loud chuckle, "I suppose you aren't as bad at this as I expected." He pulled my hair back to make me face him, "I'll give you a little warning. Be prepared within a month, because that will be your final test." Raising my brow, I gave him a confused look. In return, he only shook his head. "C'mon, it's almost curfew for you." He began walking back. I quickly got up to follow him. Even though I didn't particularly enjoy being in his company, I still wasn't familiar with the way back, especially when it was getting darker by the minute.

Once we were back at the mansion, we were called to the dining table for dinner. I sat in a seat with my arm propping my head up. "You look tired.~" a familiar friendly voice spoke. I turned to see the tall clown. "Hi, Jack."  Eyeless froze and turned to face me. I facepalmed and corrected myself, "Laughing Jack." The monochrome clown let out a snicker. "How's training going, kid?" I sighed, "Well, I'm not failing." "That's good, kid." "Hehe, yeah." The sound of Tim clearing his throat silenced the room. "Jesus, Tim, that cold of yours is getting worse.~" BEN commented. The rooms erupted with subtle laughter. Tim's response (flipping him off) only fueled the humor. Tim, "OK, QUIET." The room silenced once Slender entered. Tim turned to me, " (Y/N) have you improved in your training at all?" "U-um well, I suppose.." My cheeks flushed at all of the eyes on me. "The little shit's doing alright, but she still needs a thorough amount of practice before the test." Jeff's voice echoed through the room. He turned to face the tall creature and it nodded after a pause.

Later, I began walking back to my room, but Kate stopped me. "So, I see you're improving." "Yes." I sighed, worried about what Jeff said earlier. What test? I didn't know if I would be able to pass..."What exactly do I have to do in the-er-test?" I asked nervously. She shrugged, "Everyone's was different. Even if they were all the same though, I wouldn't be allowed to actually tell you." A groan escaped my lips. I couldn't believe it. Now I was even more concerned. "Well, I've got to go to bed now...." The proxy nodded, "Get a good rest. You'll need it." After nodding to her, I headed back to my room and strung myself out on the bed. I definitely needed it.
