Only One; Why Don't We

Chapter 25; the final chapter

"Mackenzie Lynn."

"Jack I love you too." I leaned in and kissed him.

He kissed me back.

"What about Zach."

"I found out the hospital wasn't quite his idea of fun." I sat down on his bedside. "He's doing the show, and the rest of the tour. I broke up with him."

He smiled. "It hurts."

"I know, I can't imagine how you feel. I'm sorry."

"Don't be. I'd take a bullet for you any day." He laughed.

He moved over as much as he could.

"Come here." He said.

I laid down next to him in the hospital bed. Watching him as his eyes closed and he feel asleep.

* 1 week later *
Today was the day. The day we got to go home. I was cleared a couple days ago but I stayed with him. He was my everything, I literally had no one else.

My father hates me, my mother is dead, and Logan is away on tour. He was my last hope.

We got to my apartment and threw all of our stuff on the bed. Then flopped onto it.

"Well we did it." Jack said then looked at me. "We survived ups and downs, and even a crazy psycho who tried killing us." I smiled at him. "I love you." He said.

"I love you too."

* another week later *
The tour got the week off so Logan and Dani came to visit me and Jack. Jack was staying with me in my apartment. It was basically ours.

"I missed you sweet cheeks." Dani said while wrapping his arms around me.

" I missed you too." I said hugging him back.

"Come here baby cousin." Logan said with his arms out wide and his vlog camera in one hand.

He hugged me. Then shut the camera off.

Jack and Daniel were talking in the living room.

"Are you okay?" Logan asked.

"Yah I'm fine, why?"

"I feel so guilty. I promised your mom I would always look out for you. Then you get shot and I'm not there to help you. I'm actually the worst guardian ever."

Yes Logan is my legal guardian. He's not the best at it, but he is. I am very much capable of taking care of myself, but in case of any legal or health issues, he's the one they call.

"Logan don't feel bad. I had Jack. Plus there was nothing you could of done. Chloe is a psycho bitch."

He laughed. "True. Hey did you hear they got her? She's being accused of attempt of man slaughter."

"Really?! That's great!!" I jumped.

"How's Zach?" I asked.

"He's, he's hanging in there. He met a really nice girl on tour. Remember the one he met during our first show? Her name is Indi. She reminds me a lot of you."

"Good. He's an amazing guy, he really is. He just makes dumb decisions." I laughed.

Logan and Daniel left. Later that day Corbyn, Jonah, and Zach came to say goodbye.

"I heard about Indi. I'm happy for you." I said.

"Yah, she's pretty great. She reminds me of you. She's smart, gorgeous, caring, understanding. All the great qualities you have." He smiled.

"I love you Zach." I said giving him a hug.

"I love you too. I always will." He hugged me back.

The boys were on their way back to tour.

"Jack. You don't have to stay here with me. You can go back on tour."

He laughed at me.

"Why would I do that? I couldn't stand being away from you for so long." He walked up to me and grabbed my waist. Then pulled me in for a kiss.

I pulled out of the kiss and sat on the couch.

* 1 month later *

I woke up in my apartment. Jack was sleeping right next to me. I snuggled into him as he woke up.

"Good morning baby." He said while smiling.

"Morning." I said. "Coffee?"

"Mmh" he mumbled.

I got up and grabbed two cups, then waited for the coffee to brew. I could hear him stumbling around inside the room.

I grabbed the coffee and opened the door.

He was wearing a tux, and sitting on one knee with a box in his hands.

"What is this?" I asked.

"It's a promise ring. This time I expect you to keep it." He stood up and put it on my finger. I kissed him. He wrapped his arms around me pulling me into a tight embrace.

"One more surprise." He said pulling away from the kiss.

I was super confused. He never does this.

He brought out a bigger box.

"What is this?"

He handed it to me as I sat down in the bed.

I opened the lid and a brown husky with bright blue eyes jumped out.

"Jack you didn't."

I pulled him onto me as I fell back on the bed. His head rested on my chest while I played with his curls.

So did Marley. He began biting Jacks hair.

"Hey!" He yelled. He sat up next me as Marley laid in between us.

"I love you." He said.

"I love you more."

{A/N: welllllllll sadly that's the end. There is only so much you can write a book about. But with every ending there is a new beginning. I am making a new book!
