Luke and Sasha sat across from each other in a lonely frozen yogurt shop. They went to get coffee, only to realize that neither were in the mood for it which led them to the yogurt shop across the street. The two sat quietly, enjoying the silence and their yogurt.
"Has Edward texted you?" Sasha asked, breaking the silence. Luke sighed and shook his head. He couldn't help but feel bad. He knew that Edward would never do anything to truly hurt him, he just wanted better for his best friend. Sasha frowned. She wanted to tell him how she felt about the situation, but it wouldn't be her place to say anything since she doesn't really know him well. "He'll come around." Is all she could muster.
"Maybe I should apologize." Luke started and Sasha nodded her head quickly.
"It's not my place to say anything but, I truly believe that Edward is a kind guy. He wouldn't do or say anything that was meant to hurt you."
"He didn't have to call her a bum. Hell, I already get pissed when he calls her Kunta." Sasha snorted causing Luke to look at her in confusion. She giggled and mumbled a 'sorry'. "She won't answer my calls, I don't know what's going on." Luke put his head in his hands.
"Look." Sasha started. "I know you don't want to tell me much about your relationship but, the person that I am will not allow me to let you sit here and sulk." Luke sighed and removed his head from his hands.
"Can I trust you?" Luke asked her and Sasha nodded her head quickly.
"I would never tell anybody anything you said if you didn't want me to." Luke nodded his head and two were filled with silence again. Suddenly, Luke's phone began to ring. The contact 'Baby' flashed on the screen and he quickly slid to answer. He felt his anger rising again.
"What the hell, Kayla?!" He yelled into the phone and Sasha began to stuff her face with her yogurt while looking at Luke still. "Do you know how dumb you made me look tonight?! This was one of the biggest nights for me and where were you? With your dumb ass friends." Sasha could hear the woman on the phone pleading and crying to Luke but she felt no sympathy. What kind of girlfriend can she be to choose to hang out with her friends instead of being there for her boyfriend?
"Nah, Kayla I'm not coming home tonight. I need to clear my head." With that, Luke hung up the phone and slammed it on the table. The phone began to vibrate again, indicating she was probably calling back all Luke did was turn his phone off. He glanced over at Sasha who was staring at him, as if she was trying to read him.
"I'm sorry you had to see that. I don't like to show my aggressive side much. But, she made me so mad, I couldn't control it." Luke apologized and Sasha shook her head.
"From what I heard, there's no reason to apologize to me. If anything, she needs to apologize to you. I know you told me that you performed for me, as a favor but, I can't help but feel that you were also doing this to help yourself and it sucks that the person you thought really cared for you, doesn't." Sasha stated.
"Well, you're right. I tell Kayla all the time how I'm going to get us to a higher status, A-list even. But, she act like she doesn't believe me. And don't get me wrong, I still love her, just not as much as I used to."
"I've been in the same situation before. But, I soon realized that staying wasn't doing anything but hurting me and him." Her words hit Luke hard, it was evident all over his face. "But, for you guys, maybe counseling? It may bring you two back to the love." Sasha quickly said. Luke sighed.
"Maybe. For now, I'm going to take you home and I'm going to go the studio." He said while getting up and throwing his and her trash away.
"You're going to sleep at the studio?" Sasha frowned causing Luke to laugh.
"No, I'm not. I'm going there to write some music. Then, I'm going to go to Edward's house." Sasha cocked her head to the side.
"I don't think Edward is going to want to see you right now. Y'all just had a argument like what, an hour ago?" Sasha inquired. Luke laughed again.
"You don't know how our friendship is. We can literally cuss each other out one minute and be playing 2K the next." He explained and Sasha nodded. If her and Lola would have fought the way the boys did, one of them would be moving out the house.
"There's such a difference in girl best friends and guy best friends. Me and my best friend probably wouldn't speak for weeks if something like that happened." Luke opened the door to the yogurt shop and they left.
"That's because females are more sensitive than males. It's a fact." He unlocked his car doors and opened the door for Sasha. She sucked her teeth at his statement for thanking him and getting in the car. Luke jogged to the drivers side and got inside.
"Your 'fact' is false. Men tend to keep their emotions in because they feel like if they show emotion, they'll be labeled 'soft' or 'gay'." Sasha snapped back. Luke scoffed and started the car.
"Ain't it funny how y'all say y'all want us to show emotion and then when we do y'all call us pussies during an argument? Women don't know what they want, facts."
"Some women don't. I for one know what I want and won't lead my man to confusion." Sasha defended.
"Alright. What do you want then?" He asked her.
"In what aspect are we talking?"
"In the aspect of a man. What do you want?" Sasha sat back in the seat and thought. Luke laughed. "See if you knew what you wanted, you would've said it already." Sasha sucked her teeth.
"Look, I know what I want. I just had to get my thoughts together. I'm ready now." Luke waved his hand, signaling her to speak.
"I want a man that cares, someone who will listen to all my problems even if it's something so small or dumb. I want a man that is willing to take risks. I've been a introvert my whole life so I need someone who will push me to do things I've never even thought of doing. I want him to support my dreams and help me make them become a reality." Sasha said and Luke was impressed. "Those are just some things, I won't bore you with the rest." Luke shook his head.
"No, I enjoyed listening. Keep going. But first, give me your address because I don't know where the hell I'm going." The two shared a laugh and Sasha gave him her address. After doing so, they went back to their conversation and rode down the dark road of New York.
