Chapter 11

He pulled it out and shot at me five times, only three hit.

As I bled out on the walkway, I heard sirens coming, but I had already lost all hope of surviving.

But then, I woke up in a hospital bed.

My dad and Ethan's whole family were in the room with chairs sitting all around the bed.

My dad started crying and I didn't understand why.

Dad beeped one of the buttons on my remote and about five minutes later the nurse came in and said, "Oh! You are awake! It's been six months."

I ask since what and she told me that I was in a coma for six months without any signs and they thought I was not going to make it through.

They were preparing for me to die.

Wasn't it a miracle that I was alive.

The doctor said that in a couple of days maybe a week I would be out, but they had to run some tests on me first, and I also had to recover from the removal of my feeding tube. They removed it already because they thought I had days before I died, maybe even hours.

The same day, late at night they had me up walking around that floor of the hospital.

Ethan, Grayson, and my dad stayed there with me for those couple of nights. Ethan's family left.

I got released from the hospital two nights after the day I woke up.

The only thing I had to remind me from the night that Matt came back, are my scars.

My father told me that Matthew was in jail and I didn't have to worry about him anymore, but I was still scared. He could of gotten out and that is actually what he did.

He escaped, but we never heard from him.

The day of my release, the doctor told me I should exercise to gain my strength back, and walk to keep my heart rate up, so Ethan and Grayson volunteered to go walking with me everyday. I went walking twice a day and the first time Ethan came, the second time Grayson came.
