This was it, the day of graduation and the beginning of a brand new start. Karkat vantas couldn't be happier that he was getting out of this hellhole and taking his dream girl with him. His girlfriend Terezi pyrope had agreed to go on a roadtrip with him right after graduation. They were set to leave tonight.

After the while deal with the caps and gowns and shit (and Terezi almost falling off the stage) the two went to karkats house to get ready to leave. The blind girl couldn't help but notice how on edge her boyfriends family seemed. As they left, she told them goodbye and his brother began to say something before she was pushed out the door by a merciful karkat.

they drove and drove as karkat went on with no intention of stopping for rest. he let her sleep soundly though, knowing she couldn't drive. finally, in the early hours of the morning before sunrise, they finally made it to the beach.

"terezi we are here" he said, shaking her shoulder. as she awoke, she smelled the salt in the cool wind and knee where they were. she loved the beach, even if she couldn't see the colors of the sunrise anymore. she could still hear and feel the water. still walk in the sand. still taste the salt. it was magical.

there, as she wriggled her toes in the sand and felt the heat of the sunrise, a small trinket was slipped into her hand. "w-whats this?" she asked, feeling over it with her fingers.

"here" karkat said. "let me help" he took it from her and slowly slid the silver engagement ring onto her finger.

"what do you say?"
