-OMG! Ciara! -Juliet yelled as I stepped out the boarding tunnel.
-Juliet! -I screamed too as I ran to her.
-It's been so long! Look how beautiful you are! -She said hugging me. I left my luggage a side and a security guard took it.
Juliet was my stepmom, she married my dad five years after my mom died. And I'm ok with that, she's so nice and my dad really loved her. She's pretty young, my dad is 50 while she's 36.
-It's good to see you again, my little girl -My dad said with his hands on his pockets. He was dressed so formal as always.
-Dad! -I said hugging him. He hugged me back, then kissed my forehead.- Here you are. I missed you so much.
-I missed you too... -I said taking his hands.
I really missed his smiley face. Even through he's a serious business man, he has always been so good to me. Her strong face changed totally when he's with me. He always taking care of me and being just a great father.
-Dear, we have to go. Everyone is waiting at home for you. -Juliet said taking my arm and start walking me down the hall. Dad was behind us, talking to the phone as always. My luggage was carried by the body guards and Juliet was just too excited talking about the big party that Ivory Family was throwing tonight.

-Mrs. Ivory -A bodyguard said to Juliet when he opened the door of the huge van with the logo that characterized Ivory Companies.
We were talking all the way to home about my residence in Germany and how Medicine School was going.  I loved my career, even though my dad was little upset that I wouldn't get the love for the family company.

We were passing by the "Welcome to Joplin. The city that Jack Built" giant sign. I started thinking of my life before I leaved. I missed Jackie, Helen and Josseline. But who I missed the most was... him.
-Sweetie, we're going to meet Evan's family tomorrow... -Juliet said suddenly
-What? Why? -I said looking at my dad in the other side.
-He has been waiting for you since you left Joplin. -He said looking me just for a second the he returned to his phone.
-But... -I said to him. He raised an eyebrow while he was waiting on the line. I turned to Juliet. -I... I can't...
-Sweetie, Evan loves you. He has been waiting for you all this time. He said you haven't talked to him since you left. -She said putting my hair behind my ear.- You had to see his sad face when you left without saying goodbye to him. He's such a sweet man, give him a chance...
-But I don't love him! -I said starting to cry- You know why I left, you know what happened.
-Yes, I know. And you tried to move on... and you did. You can try something with Evan. This could be a great chance for you two. Now that he's working with you dad, we thought you two can...
-What? -I interrupted her.- Evan is working at the company?-I asked to my dad. He looked at Juliet with bad eyes and sighed.
-Ciara... Evan is going to study a degree in international business administration, we thought it was a good idea to get him involved in the topic before he graduate. He can practice and study at the time...
-So that's it -I said angry- You want me to be with Evan so he can inherit the company...
-Ciara... -He said trying to calm me down
-Dad! I'm old enough to take my decisions. I don't love Evan. I never did. That's why I declined his marriage proposal. Can't you get it? -I said tears rolling my face.
-Dear... I don't want you to marry him. -He said with a cold face
-So what? -I said looking at him. Juliet was massaging my shoulders, trying to calm me.
-I just don't want you to be sad again here. I... I just want to know that you already forgot that stupid child...
-Dad.. -I said starting to cry again
-Ciara, you need to forget him. You can't be with him. -He said. I was crying a lot. I didn't want to talk about this- He doesn't love you.
My heart broke again. Well, it was just a pile of pieces but when he said that, the pile just got down and every piece of my heart cut my lungs making me hard to breathe.
-That's not your business... -I said as I got up And knocked the window between the back seats and the driver. -Please, stop here.
-Ciara.. -Dad said touching my back.
The van stopped and I got out of it. My Dad followed me.
-Ciara, get in the van, please. -My dad said as I started walking.
-No. I need to be alone. -I said walking.
-Alan... -Juliet said. I looked back and she was getting dad in the van. She sent me a kiss, and I smiled at her (at least I tried).
The van moved and passed me by.
