Behind Those Eyes

Chapter 2 :

"Hello I.. I'm Joohyun, the newly hired employee here in WanDerland Bakery.." Joohyun shyly introduced herself, can't even look straight to the other three girls.

"Girls, let her breathe, I can even feel how you all staring at her suspiciously, don't worry, she's nice.. "

" How can you say she's nice unnie?, when it's not even a whole day you have known her?, what if she's after your money? " Joy frustratingly asked.

" I-I'am not!, I'm not a thief, and I will never think or do that especially to someone who just saved my life. "

" oh really? I've heard and watched a lot of Dramas with that same scenario, you can't fool me. "

" Joy please.., Wendy is here, she knows what she's doing.. " Seulgi trying to calm the taller girl from her rage.

Wendy took a deep breath, as she slowly finds Joohyun's hand under the table, holding it to reassure her. It didn't go unnoticed by Seulgi.

" Joy, treat this as how I trusted you all to be with me, we all know that I'm blind, easy to be fooled, just completely weak and defenseless.. "

" But it's different, we are your friends since young, and you know we will never take advantage of you.."

"I know.. I know.. but it will not make any difference that now Joohyun is my friend too.."

"Wendy unnie... "

" Joy unnie, let unnie decides, after all she owns this bakery, we don't even have a say to this..."

"Yerim, even you? "

" I'm just stating facts unnie.. "

" Yerim is right Joy, and if you're still worried, we are here, we can always look out for Wendy.. "

Joy puffed in frustration as she stood up and went to her respective area.

" Don't mind her Wen, you know how she's always been overprotective to you.. "

" I know, I understand her Seul... "

" So.. let's start our work now, you all don't want our customers to wait long for their favorite breads right? "

they all stood up.

" Anyway, welcome to our little family Joohyun.. " Seulgi smiled cheerfully..,as Wendy turned to look at Joohyun and smiled too. Joohyun can't help but reciprocate it with her own grateful smile.

Joohyun's first day at the bakery is not really easy, she's new and still not familiar, so she would make mistakes here and there, plus Joy would even make it worst for her. But Joohyun will still stand up co'z she can see how Wendy always put an effort to teach and help her, she even questioned how can someone like Wendy is so kind, when she has a lot of reasons to be mad in the world. Joohyun learned about how Wendy's parents died, and how she became blind. Seulgi also told her that Joy is not really a bad person but just being overprotective to her friend.

Aside from Wendy, Seulgi is the only one accepting her wholeheartedly, and trying to explain her friends mood swings especially Joy. And because Wendy would always smile at her, she had this desire to be on the good side of Wendy's friends. It maybe hard, but she will try until she became friends with them too, as long as Wendy believes on her.

It's been a week, but Joy still has her doubts to Joohyun. But eventually she's getting this soft spots for her, especially seeing how Wendy would always looks so happy around her.

"Unnie looks much happier lately especially when she came.. " Yeri pointed out as they watched the two laughing while mixing the flour, and Joohyun would always cough because it sometimes caught on her face.
