Behind Those Eyes

Chapter 4 :

Joohyun found Seulgi alone at the back of the bakery, sitting at the stone railing while playing on her phone. She was too focus on it that she didn't notice Joohyun, anxiously approaching her.

It's now or never Joohyun, fighting!

She fakes a cough that finally caught Seulgi's attention.

"Oh, Joohyun, what are you doing here?, is it Wendy looking for me? " Seulgi looks around to see if she's going to get another earful from Wendy if she found out that she's just playing games instead of working.

"ahh, no.. Wendy went out to buy some ingredients at the mart.. "

Seulgi sigh in relieved, then looks at Joohyun who is obviously fidgeting in front of her.

"is there something you wanted to say? " Seulgi asked getting Joohyun's whole attention.

"I-I honestly don't know, if.. if I'm in position to ask this? but.. " Seulgi waited for her to continue.

"Do you know something about Wendy's sickness?.. " Seulgi stared at her seriously.

"Wendy had anxiety disorder since young, she got it after her accident where her parents both died..she keeps blaming herself for what happened that makes her hurt herself sometimes.. " Joohyun teared up by listening, hands clasped as she wish that all of Wendy's pain would just gone away.

"But don't worry, if she's regularly drinking her meds, it just means that she's fine, and she's handling it well..."

"I just don't understand..why all of these need to happen to someone like her?.. " Joohyun cried, while Seulgi stared at her and smiled.

Now I understand, how you truly cared about her.

"You shouldn't show this to her.. " Seulgi said while staring at Joohyun.

"Wendy hated it the most when someone pitied on her...and she doesn't like it when you would keep worrying about her..." Joohyun looks up as she wipes her tears away.

"Wendy is the type of person who doesn't want other's care co'z it would just keeps on reminding her about her disability.. " Seulgi shook her head at the reminder.

"But you're probably special Joohyun co'z she let you see her weakness and let you stay by her side.. " Seulgi added with a smile.

Joohyun saw Wendy bathing Blue at the bathroom, she was all smiles obviously enjoying what she's doing even though she's also getting drenched.
Joohyun watch for a moment before she joined them.

"You know what, you could also join Blue in bathing, you're already wet all over you...see you got soap here" Joohyun teases while wiping the soap bubbles in Wendy's cheeks.

"You don't need to do that, I'm used to it.. "

"But you still let me.. " Joohyun teases again while smiling at her.

"because I didn't see you.. "

"If that so, then let me help you in bathing Blue.."

"b-but.. "

"right Blue?.. " the dog barks in agreement and snuggled in Joohyun's hands.

"yah, Blue.. " Joohyun giggled seeing Wendy grimaced at the dog as if she was betrayed.

In the end they both bathed Blue but at the same time played with the bubbles like little kids. Wendy doesn't know how it happened but it feels like they've been doing that ever since, like a far away memory little kids playing in the sand at the seashore, as laughter filled her ears.
