Ash's POV
In his nightmare
'You won't be able to do anything, Ash Ketchum!'
'You should just give up!'
'Your future won't be so beautiful, Ash Ketchum!'
'You don't have any real target! You won't know what you want to do, Ash!'
End of the nightmare
I quickly get up and sit on my bed. I've been sweating a lot from that nightmare. It was the same one, with the same detail that I've met for years
I go to the bathroom to brush my teeth. When I'm washing my face, I try to wipe off that nightmare out of my head. Seriously, what's so important about having a target or a dream for yourself? I mean, yeah I've set my target already, that I want to become a great and popular and hoping that one of my book will be transcended into an Anime or at least will be based on. So why isn't it enough? Is something still missing? Or I've made a wrong choice?
I look at the laptop which is on my table and sigh. Since my recent work or my next chapter of the series I'm working on is starting to be published, I can have some times for relaxation.
However, unlike the past, now I have to face one of the 'toughest' challenge of my life. And that is that cat girl who's staying at my place
I understand that she has nowhere to go, but what can I say? She's so stubborn and has a bunch of tricks in a sleeve just to turn my life into a real life nightmare. Anyone still remembers how she got free candies and snacks in the subway? I'm the one who had to sacrifice
I know gender equality is a thing that everyone has to follow today. However, that doesn't mean boys have to back down for girls to take over. I mean, even the author of this book is broke and he has to be a 'punching bag' for his girlfriend.
Now you may say that I have to back down for Serena because she's a girl and she's also my roommate. Well... I have something to say about that
First, she's NOT my roommate, alright? She just basically turned into some kind of cat and used her cuteness to get my agreement about letting her stay. Hey, that cuteness is just her cover, alright!?
Second, I know she promised that she'll marry me after she passes the age of 18. However, after a series of events happened yesterday, I'm not sure if I can still believe her again. I mean... she might leave me for that 'cute employee' she met yesterday and even tried to flirt him
But whatever, it's still nice for me to have a companion at my place so I won't feel... lonely. Damn it, why do I have to speak out that word!?
After I change into my casual clothes, which are a t-shirts and a boxers, I go to the living room to see if she's already awake or not, and I see something that is interesting
The living room is quite dark, and Serena is already awake, and she's sitting with a blanket cover her body, while hugging her legs and staring at the TV. She also has a bottle of coke on her left hand, which I guess she has drunk half of it. I look further to see if I can find anything else beside her and I find... yes, that stupid hamburger box from McDonald that she's been snuggling the whole time.
If you want to know what a hikikomori or otaku usually does at his or her home, that is your answer
Anyway, she's watching some kind of news on TV, and I guess I have to ask her about it
"Ohaiyo!" She greets me with a peace sign and turns her sight back to the TV. I sit down next to her on the couch, while trying to avoid the hamburger box on it or she'd go crazy or even flood my house like last time
