Good Deed

Serena's POV

There I am, lying on the couch like a lazy cat. Well... actually that's exactly what happening right now

I'm currently in my cat form, lying on the couch like I have nothing to do. Well, that's true. I really have nothing to do! The lazyness is taking over me and I really need to find something to do

Anyway, while reaching my arm to the bag of potato chips, well, it used to be filled of them, I find out that the bag is totally empty. And since there aren't anymore at home, I really need to get some. But... like I said, laziness is taking over my body. Now what should I do...?

Oh great, just in time! My servant is here!

"Oi, stupid cat! Get up from the couch and find something to do!" Ash tells me, but I just roll out of the couch and change back to my human form. I don't forget to ask him to buy some snacks for me

"Ash, can you buy some snacks for me today? We've run out of them..." I tell him with a tired and sleepy tone, but he holds up his chin, maybe thinking of something. Then he finally speaks out

"How about you go this time? It's your own business after all!"

Well, Ash. There's no way I'm gonna carry my butt to do such a troublesome work like that!

"Why should I do such a troublesome thing like that?" I ask and change to my cat form, then I lay up and do what cats usually do to please their owners. "Wouldn't you mind looking at how cute I am?"

"... I'm sure you'd be cuter if you laid up on a heating barbecue!" Ash replies

Geez, classic Ash. Rude, as usual

"Okay, I'm just kidding! I'll go now, okay!?" I change back to my human form and stand up, but before I leave, I stretch my back to pretend that it hurts

"Ouch~! My back hurts~! I'm sure I can't go with a backache~!" I groan

"Well then... How about I help you feel better?" Ash says which kinda surprises me. But when I turn my back, I see he's forming a fist with his hand and his eyes are twitching. And it's at that moment, I start walking straight out the door before I encounter something worse. After all...

I'd better leave now or I'll have to say "sayonara" to my back

Right now, with a plastic bag full of snacks on my head, I'm skipping to home. I think putting things on my head is kind of my little habit now, maybe because "god of laziness" has paralyzed my fingers and hands so they can't hold anything.

However, on my way home, I hear some crying and begging from a toy store that's full of stuffed animals

Now, I'm not a person who likes to stick her nose into someone's business, that means I'm not so curious, either. So I walk pass that store like nothing happened...

... You know what? I'll get in that store. What can I say? I have overwhelming kindness, after all

As soon as I step in, I see a little boy, about 11 years old, I think, begging the store owner about something, in which hearing from the talk, I think he can't afford to buy a stuffed toy

A bit personal but relevant here. I don't want to oversay this, but based on how many stuffed animals I had and also the ones that I... used to have, I could even open a kingdom with them and make some money from tourists. So like I said, I've never been worried about being broke, until... I met... "him"...

Anyway, seeing how pitiful this boy is, I guess I have to help him. I mean... Even if the author is trying to turn me into a lazy and useless bone, I should do something to show that I'm always the helpful and goodgirl Serena in every fanfics, right people?

So I greet him and ask him about what's going on, and you know, I was right.

The boy introduces himself as Totsuka, and while talking with him, I can notice some blushes on his face. You see, Ash!? That's what you should do when you're talking with a girl, you enemy of women!

Anyway, he starts crying again, so I guess it's my mission to soothe him, right?

"Okay okay! Onee-chan will help you, alright?" I try my best to soothe him and Totsuka soon stops. After all, from my talk with him, I found out that he wanted to buy it for his mom, who's ill right now.

However, I talk a glance at the price tag of the toy he wants to buy and it almost gives me a heart attack

$2500 for just a bear that's bigger than me...

I start sweating and look at $100 in my pocket. Actually I used to have about $1000, but I spent most of my money on... you know...

Luckily, Totsuka shows me $1000 he has in hand. Geez, kids nowadays have that much money, huh?

But yeah, even if we combine our money together, we won't be able to buy that. So I think of another plan

"L-Look, how about we cut that in half so we can buy it with half of the price-"

"You can't do that, young woman" (store owner)

"Oh... soka..." I say and look down the ground in disappointment while Totsuka "throws" the "Onee-chan no baka" in my face to hurt me even more

So we decided to pre-order that toy and walk out the store

"Look, Totsuka. How about we meet in the nearby park on Sunday, okay? I'll think of something to do" I tell him the plan and he just nods, maybe because his shyness, I don't really know

But one thing I know I have to do is find a way to buy it for him, at least if that's the only good deed I can do

Okay, so that's a wrap up. I know it's a little short

Recently I've been facing lots of things, including facing my laziness and also preparing for my first high school year

Yup, my summer is gonna end in 8 days. That moment when you realized you've been spending your summer on Anime and just Anime 😂

The "Blue Sword Arc" is about to start right after the next chapter. Here's a little spoiler. A new female character, or some sort of catgirl like Serena is going to join the cast, and trust me, you guys will like her immediately
