[So before I get into the story, I just wanted to wish a Happy Birthday to my new friend, Gracie! If you're reading this, I hope you have a wonderful day and get everything that you want on this day that only comes once a year. My gift to you is a story. Now I have someone who wants to wish you a special happy birthday. For anyone who isn't Gracie, sorry but you'll have to mentally switch Gracie's name with your own. Go check out her awesome WattPad story as well and make sure to wish her a happy birthday!]

She stood in the doorway of her bedroom, listening to her parents bustling around the kitchen, preparing her birthday surprise. Her older brother sat in the hallway before her, throwing a ball at a wall continuously, having been assigned to guard duty. He checked his watch, quickly looking down the hall into the kitchen.

She took this opportunity to bolt down the hall, only to be tackled and dragged back into her room by her brother. She protested, squirming in his arms as he tossed her onto her bed and shut the door, holding the handle so she couldn't get out. "No way, Gracie, fifteen more minutes. I never got something like this for my birthday when I was your age, it'll be awesome I promise."

"Hey! No, Let me out!" She banged on the door, annoyed with her older brother's strength over her own before realizing that there would be no use in fighting him. He'd get bored and leave soon enough. This wasn't the first time he's done this.

Gracie flopped down onto her bed, staring up at the wall. She was too curious, she thought. She wanted so badly to know what they were doing that she hadn't cared if she ruined the surprise for herself. She could hear the door handle shake as her brother adjusted his grip on the door. He was determined to keep her there. Her parents had probably promised him a large slice of cake or something. He was a sucker for sweets.

"Pouting on your birthday?" A familiar voice chuckled at her. She sat bolt upright, her head whipping about the room in search of its source. She tumbled off her bed and flew to her closet, pillow in hand. She wasn't expecting to hurt anyone but least she could defend herself. "It's not very becoming."

She felt a cold hand on her shoulder, making her shriek and jump backward, into someone. Their arms wrapped around her waist gently, pulling her in a circle. Way to go me, she thought as she struggled to get free of their grasp, stumbling into the curtain of clothing in her closet. When she turned around, she was greeted by a familiar face.

A man stood with his arms crossed, an amused expression on his face. His crisp gray suit was now wrinkled and hanging awkwardly from where she'd struggled to get away. His eyes were dark, just as the tresses of his hair were. The curls that fell over his face seemed to know better than to get anywhere near his eyes though. His skin had an eerie gray glow to it. A smile seemed to cut itself into his face as he watched her try to comprehend the fact that he was standing there before her.

"You know who I am?" The man's deep voice made her shiver but she nodded.

"You're Darkiplier." She muttered, not wanting her brother to hear them. He chuckled at her sheepish nature.

"And you're Gracie." He took her hand, drawing it up to his lips and pressing a kiss to it before looking up at her with a curved smile. She blushed furiously, a shy smile on her lips. He drew her to the middle of her small room, placing his arm around her waist. "I hope you know, you're very, very beautiful."

Gracie was at a loss for words. She opened her mouth to speak but found no words. Dark chuckled once more, pulling her into a hug. She was so shocked at his kindness, having seen what he was capable of on Mark's channel. She hugged him back, regardless. She could hear his heartbeat against her ear. He was much taller than she was so her head rested perfectly against his chest.

"Happy Birthday, Gracie." Dark spoke softly. He drew away from the hug, his hands resting on her shoulders. "I hope you'll find my gift to you later. It's hidden but I think you're clever enough to find it." He said with a wink. As confused as she was, Gracie nodded. She turned her attention to the door as her mom yelled to her brother to let her out of her room. Dark heard too because he released Gracie to let her go. Gracie stood still a minute more, trying to think of what to say to Dark. She heard her mom call her from the kitchen.

"Thank you, Dark." She was all she could manage. He laughed softly and walked her towards the door, pressing a kiss to her forehead before opening the door. He face turned bright red, making Dark grin. He brushed a strand of her blueish-purple tipped hair behind her ear.

"We'll be in touch. Enjoy today." With that, he left. Gracie stood still in the doorway to her bedroom, trying to comprehend everything that just happened. Dark just wished her a Happy Birthday. The Darkiplier had just been in her bedroom, wishing her a Happy Birthday. She had no words for what happened. She forced herself to hurry to the kitchen, where her parents were still calling her.

"Happy Birthday, Gracie!" Her family shouts as she enters the kitchen. A wide grin spreads across her face as she hugs each of her parents and her brother. He sticks his tongue out at her and she glares daggers at him. He laughs at her as he guides her over to the kitchen table and has her sit at the head of the table.

Her parents come in with a delicious looking cake, with several lit candles atop it. She blushes as they all begin singing "Happy Birthday" to her.

Happy Birthday, Gracie. Hope you have an amazing day!
