Chapter 1
My name is Lindsay Evans, and my life is basically a cliche fan fiction :/
I grew up in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, England living with my Mum, Dad, and my little sister Lauren. We lived in Holmes Chapel because that's where my Mum grew up and she was attached to her town. I liked living there, it was beautiful and it had a loving small town feel. The first part of my childhood was harder because i had to deal with this annoying kid, Harry. His mum, Anne, and my mum, Mary, had grown up together and had been inseparable their whole lives. So I used to spend a lot of time over at their house, and vice versa. I loved Anne, but Harry was extremely irritating. He would always come and ruin whatever I was doing. He would knock down my block towers, knock my dolls over, crash my tea parties and throw mud at me. You get it. Our parents would always push us together because we were the same age, but neither of us liked it. At all.
For my 7th birthday I got a guitar. I was so excited because i had been wanting one for a looooong time. I loved music so much. And it's because of that guitar that Harry and I finally became friends. I was practicing it a few days after my birthday, and his family came over. I heard them come in, but decided to just keep playing. Maybe then Harry wouldn't bother me. My bedroom door was open and he sauntered in like he owned the place. I ignored him and kept playing. I focused on the chords i was playing. G, C, A, D. I tried playing them in different orders trying to make sure my fingers were on the right strings.
"Can I try?" Harry suddenly asked.
"Ummm, no."
"Come on please?"
"No."
"Just for a minute?" Heavens, he was persistent. It was getting annoying. He kept pleading so I finally let him to see if it would shut him up. He just messed around with it for a while before we decided to look up some super easy songs on the Internet. We had a laugh trying to figure it out. Time flew by quickly and before we knew it he had to go home. That was the first time I was sad to see him leave.
From that point on I didn't dread going to his house, and I had started to look forward to when he came over to mine. As the years went by we bonded. I mean we fought all the time but it was nothing serious. A firm friendship was built on our mutual love for music. He took a few guitar lessons, but decided to give up. He liked singing better. And he was really good. His voice was absolutely amazing. I loved playing the guitar and I eventually learned to play the piano too. Harry said I was good at singing, but I wasn't sure. One summer night we discussed our goals and dreams. I mean, we had talked about it before, but that night was when we actually decided to see them through. Our parents had gotten together for dinner, and after third helpings of dessert we snuck outside. We went to his backyard and jumped on the trampoline. After several minutes we started talking about the X Factor. It had been playing during dinner and we decided to discuss it.
