I sit bolt right up in bed, my little four year old self crying out for my parents. Snot is dripping down from my nose and my eyes are a stream. I can't stop screaming. Even though we left when I was three I still remember the destruction. My parents whip open the door and slither into my bed and hold me. My mom is tall with long black hair and bright blue eyes. She is very independent, powerful, beautiful and she takes care of my father and me. He has short blond hair and stormy grey eyes. My father is almost carefree and we have lots of fun when my Cêpan isn't around. My Cêpan, Aris, is pretty much my second father. He teaches me things I can understand but mostly we play with my chimæra. Orthrus can shapeshift into different animals at will. Once I calm down I look up at my parents and they look down at me.

"What's wrong?" my mother asks sympathetically.

My little voice isn't to sure of its self right now but I get out my words. "Just a dream." They keep holding me until I fall asleep.

I wake up by myself and sneak quietly downstairs. I peak my head around the corner into the kitchen. I see my mom making pancakes and my dad setting the table. I see Aris walk out of his bedroom. He is wearing plaid pj's and a white t-shirt, his short black hair messy a top his head. When I know he isn't looking I run full speed at him squealing away. He catches me and lifts me high above his head and spins me around. I giggle and laugh with delight. He lowers me and gives me a bear hug.

"Morning kiddo." I smile at him and sit down at the table. When my dad starts to dish out the food I wait till everyone gets there's- I'm a good little kid- before I furiously attack my plate. It takes me about five minutes before I hastily clean up and rush outside with Orthrus nipping at my heels. He transforms into a dog and we wrestle. I laugh as he playfully bites me. When I'm to tired to do anything else I lay on the grass with Orthrus curled into my side. I don't know how but I quickly fall asleep.

I wake up back in my room in clean clothes with Orthrus curled up at the end of my bed. I jump out and land on the floor. Orthrus is startled and transforms into a hedgehog. I laugh and pick him up and race downstairs with him in my outstretched palms. I see Aris sitting on the couch waiting for me.

"You're late." I set Orthrus down and look up.

"Sorry?" I don't know what to say so that will do.

"Fine I forgive you." He smiles at me and I run and jump onto the couch beside him. "Want to go swimming?" I laugh with delight and race to go and change. When I come back down and see Aris and Orthrus are already outside breathing in the fresh Californian air. We live right by the water so we don't need to go far. Orthrus transforms into a bird and flys up then straight down into the water. About five seconds later a dolphin jumps out of the water. I giggle as I race into the water. I wade out and grab a hold of his dorsal fin and he rockets forward. He slowly starts to submerge and I take a deep breath in before the icy water closes above my head.

It has been four years since the war began. I am eight now. I still don't know what to believe. This is what I know. Mogadorians lead by Setrákus Ra, wiped out all life and resources on Lorien and four years ago, nine young Garde and nine Cêpan arrived on Earth! A while after another Garde and three Cêpan arrived with about fifteen chimæra. Only, my family knows. They escaped Lorien's fate just like me. I am number Eleven and I know it am not alone.
