The flight to Athens took really long. I don't know if it's because I couldn't sit still or if it actually was. Aris and I sat together and my mom and dad sat in the row beside us. Orthrus sat in my pocket as a hamster the entire time. To occupy myself I watched movies, listened to music and read. The book is called Expecting the Unexpected, but I didn't get very far before we landed. "So where are we going?" I asked Aris.

"The coast of Athens. Your parents and I have built a house on the deserted coast and we need to make sure it is compleat before we leave for Canada."

"What do we need to do there?"

"We're just going to add equipment for training and furniture."

"How long are we staying?"

"Two days tops. Your parents have to do something soon," he says.

"Do what?!" I ask urgently.

"Oh nothing." He looks away and doesn't meet my eye until we landed and grabbed our luggage. "This way." He looks at me to make sure I'm following. I stare at him until he looks away uncomfortable and guilty.

We make it to the house in half an hour. It's very large with white concrete walls and a blue dome that rotates to reveal a glass dome so you can look out at the stars. The house has lots of windows -which are bulletproof and let in lots of natural light- and are tinted so you can't see inside. Three huge shipping containers are placed by the front. I assume it's all our stuff. "Why don't you and Aris stay outside and do something while your father and I bring everything inside?"

"Okay mom," I say glumly. I really wanted to see inside but now I can't. I'm disappointed but Aris and I go play with Orthrus while my parents telekinetically float everything inside. I sit down with Orthus in my lap and propped up against Aris's chest as he teaches me about my past.

"Your parents were scientists who both studied in the field of other life sustaining planets. They were hired by the previous elders to descriptively map out and study planets. They would spend years at a time writing everything in field guides and inserting information on their computers. They would study the planet's flora, fauna and climate. Your parents were having a year off when you were born. It was early January and it was an easy birth. They named you Alexander Grayson Chase. Life was simple and your parents stayed off work until you were three. That's when I started to show up."

I look up at him and give him a warm smile before he continues on.

"I was only there for a couple days a week till I was there everyday. Once you were very comfortable with me, your mom and dad started working again. They waited till you had received your chest before planning a trip to Earth for extensive research. Orthrus was about three months old when we left."

I look down at Orthrus who is still snuggled up at my feet. Aris continues to enlighten me.

"We were sad to leave right before the festival but is was the best time to go. We had traveled about a weeks time when we received a transmission. I was flying the ship at the time and your parents were with you. The ship's receiver turned on and a broadcast was picked up saying Lorien had fallen to the Mogadorians. The shock of the news was terrible but we continued on after another transmission came in. The second said two ships made it off of Lorien. The first, minus the captain, had nine young Garde and nine Cêpan with one chimæra. The second ship had one newborn Garde, three Cêpan and about fifteen chimæra. The first ship landed two weeks after us and the second only a month later. Once we settled in California your parents hired workers to build this house in Athens and another in Dallas, Texas."

"Do you know where the chimæra are?"

"No our best bet is to find the other Cêpans..."

My dad walks over interrupting us. "We're leaving now."

"To Canada?" I ask.

He shakes his head and I mournful look passes over his face quickly before it disappears. "No, there is a delivery needing to be picked up in Russia and then Canada." He looks over to where my mom has started the van. "Ready?"

I nod and follow my dad and Aris to the van with Orthrus trailing me. I hop in and settle in with Aris and Orthrus beside me.

"Great," I say sarcastically, "another flight."
