I wake up to Aranea battering my face with a pillow.

"Wakey, wakey, sleepyhead," she sings annoyingly. I groan and catch the pillow before she's able to smack my head again.

"I'd happily get up if you'd stop bugging me," I reply groggily as I sit up. I look out the balcony's window, we're already in Niflheim territory. The fact makes me wake up a little bit more. There's snow everywhere and the mountains where Prompto is allegedly in are in the great distance, faded and barely visible. Aranea walks up to the window and points at the hills.

"He's somewhere in the outlands just over the mountains, where all the science facilities are. I first found him in the main one, the Magitek infantry."

"Do you know how he managed to end up there?" I ask. I don't understand how he went from that train to those mountains in just a few days. Aranea turns to me.

"Haven't a clue. Although..." she says in a tone that's waiting for an answer. I realize what she's hinting at. I scoff and look away.

"Prompto's the one to ask," I say in a childish 'I-know' type of pitch.

"Good girl," Aranea praises as she walks across from the balcony to the door. "Now, hurry up and get dressed. You don't want to be late for breakfast." She closes the door. I heave a small sigh and flip the covers off of me. My feet are comfortably met with the soft wool of the carpet as I stand up and walk towards my suitcase, which is located right beside the balcony. I strip of all my clothing and put on the extra change of clothes I packed. As I finish putting on my bra, my gaze goes to the attenuated mountains on the horizon. All the way up there, somewhere within those peaks, is where Prompto's hiding. I wonder what he's doing at the moment. Trekking through all that snow, resting in his cave. Who knows. Finally putting on my shirt, I conclude that I'll find out soon enough.

"Ever been in a Niflheim café before?" Aranea asks me as we go up the stairs of a diner.

"Of course not. I'm a Lucian. I've never been near anything associated with Niflheim," I state in a whispered tone so no one around us would get suspicious.

"Huh. Guess that was stupid of me to ask then." As we walk in, I don't know if I should be surprised or not. It looks... pretty normal. The inside looks like any other café in Lucis, and the people look like... ordinary people. I still feel on edge though. These people are my enemies. We pick a two-person table as a waitress is already making her way over.

"Hello, ladies, is there anything I can get you to drink before you order?" she asks in a very polite tone, just like any other waitress does.

"I'll just have a water," Aranea says.

"Same here," I also say. The waitress scribbles in her notepad and gives us a smile.

"Two waters coming right up!" As she leaves, I unravel the scarf from my neck, finding it already too warm.

"So, what exactly is the point of bring me here?" I ask. "I know Prompto can't ask that question."

Aranea chuckles.

"I guess I just wanted to give you some hospitality before you went on your way," she says.

"Oh, really? No offence, but you don't really seem like the kind of person who gives a lot of hospitality.

"Heh. And you're absolutely right. However, I know a person worthy of respect when I see one."

"Let me guess. You happen to see one in me?"

"More or less."

The waitress comes back with our drinks, and I give her a thank you before continuing the conversation.
