I'm dreaming. I'm sure of it. The snowy mountains and landscape are beautiful... but also barren. The howl of wind rushes past the evergreen trees, the snow whirling in it makes the air visible. I look around, also sure that I'm completely alone.
Where's Prompto?
My eyes scan the land in all directions. The wind continues to howl and whizz past me, but I'm not cold. Nor am I hot. It's as if the weather is perfect. Looking down, my winter gear is still on except for my jacket hood.
What's going on?
"..."
My ears perk up at the faint sound of a whisper. Again, I look around. There's still nothing. Then, dark clouds begin to roll in at an alarming rate just above me. Thunder begins to grumble. Flickers of lightning light up the large grey clouds.
"..."
There's that whisper again. Where is it coming from? Who's speaking?
I have to find Prompto.
My feet start to move. The rumbling starts to get stronger. For some reason, I feel the need to run. My legs start to tread faster until I'm full-on sprinting. It feels like an eternity. It's weird. I'm not running out of breath. I'm not getting tired. Not only that, it feels as though I'm not even moving. The environment doesn't change at all. The mountains just a few yards away don't seem to be getting any closer.
A flash of lightning comes down and strikes a plot of land not too far from me, the thunder strong enough to create a brief earthquake. I fall to the ground but I don't feel any pain. Thunder continues to shake the ground in my struggle to get back up.
"Hahahaha!"
A deranged cackle floats through the air. It sounds like the maniacal laugh of an old man. A mad scientist kind of laugh. It's coming from the storm.
Multiple bolts of lightning come zipping down, scorching the land that they target. Each one is more powerful than the next. And each one is closer to me.
Then... I hear something. It sounded like a... bark. A dog or some kind of canine creature. I look up at a nearby hill. It is a dog. A large one. It's white, blending in with the snow, but still distinctive enough to be set apart. It barks again as if he or she is calling out to me, warning me about something.
The rumbling and lightning begin to calm the slightest bit as the animal continues its yell. I'm able to get back up on my feet because of it. Miraculously, I'm able to jog to the hill and stop just a few feet away from the dog. It's much easier to make out now. This dog... I've seen it before many times, but only in pictures. It's one of Lady Lunafreya's pets.
Pryna.
Why am I dreaming of her? Like I said before, the only times I've ever seen her was in the photos that Lady Luna would paste onto her notebook that she shared with Noct. Her other loyal pet, Umbra, would be the one to visit us and bring the scrapbook. Why am I not dreaming of him then? Where is he?
Pryna turns around and howls, the sound echoing in the wind. The dark clouds hover over me again. The earthquake comes back. Pryna looks over at me and gestures for me to join her. She begins running forward. I follow hot on her tail.
As I keep sprinting away from the storm, following Pryna, the world around turns completely white. And then... nothing. Where am I? I'm standing completely still, in blank nothingness. No ground, no sky, no sides, no space. Nothing. Even after all this time, I can't talk at all. I'm getting scared.
Suddenly, I find myself in front of the Citadel. The sky is grey and gloomy as if it's going to rain. My eyes glance in all directions around me, but there's nobody in sight. I can't talk. Why can't I talk?
