Damsel in Distress

We walked to school together and separated by the school gate. She said she's gonna go to the principal's office so Glenn and me proceeded to the classroom. We belong to class 2-B and the teacher is taking our attendance. He suddenly stood up and opened the door and made me reach the conclusion that the transferee student is finally here.

"Hey Vaughn, the transferee student is finally here. I'm so excited to see her!"

"Yeah, I know so shut up."

"Geez you're so cold. Anyways this student came from a prestigious all girls school, she must be crazily rich right?"

"Yeah maybe, but anyways Sir Stevenson will scold you if you are being noisy."

Just as we stopped talking, the transferee was standing on front. To my surprise, the girl that's standing there is also the girl that I just met this morning.

"Hi I'm Gayle Silvenia, 16 years old and transferred from Sakura All Girls High School. Hope we all get along."

She said that with a radiant smile, the type of smile that will melt your heart. As expected, all the boys in our classroom suddenly fell in love with her. They suddenly asked questions to her from her hobbies to personal information that made her a little bit surprised. Fortunately the teacher silenced them all...

"Okay that's enough, go back to your seats class will now start"

As the teacher said that, all the students in our classroom have gone back to their seats. And for that, our classes began. During our class, she showed great performance in her academic studies and an elegant atmosphere seems to surround her. News about her spread like wildfire and she became popular on the very same day she transferred in our class. Guys seemed to get pressured by the elegant atmosphere surrounding her and can only get mesmerized by her beauty from a distance, thus she was dubbed the "Flower on a High Cliff". After the long day at school, I proceeded to the "Karate Club" for practice. On the way, there seemed to be a commotion from a distance—

"Let's go home together."

"No I don't want to."

As I got closer, I saw Gayle and another male student, probably a senior; I think she is being picked on.

"Oops you dropped your bag, let me pick it up for you."

"Give it to me. I've told you many times already I don't wanna go with you."

The man, seemed frustrated and suddenly held her by the wrist. After seeing it, I closed in to stop him.

"Ouch! You're hurting me... Let go!"

"No, I won't. Unless you go with me."

I stood right behind him and held his shoulder tightly.

"Hey. No matter how unpopular you are, you can't just go and do this to a girl. Return the bag to her and apologize."

"Tsk! What're you doing brat? You dare face your senior?"

As I was getting a little impatient and annoyed of this guy, I did a high kick on his head but stopped my foot right before it hit his face. Because of what I did, I can feel that he was trembling and let go of the bag then ran.

I'm glad he didn't fight back...

I was thinking that while picking up her bag and returned it to her. Since I don't know what to do anymore, I proceeded to go to the clubroom. But suddenly I felt somebody pulled the sleeve of my uniform. As I turned to see—

"Thank you for saving me Vaughn. I don't know what to do in that situation since I got scared."

"Err... It's okay now, no need to worry... And uhh... I'm gonna go now since I have club activities. See ya tomorrow."

I was nervous at that moment so I ran without thinking. I don't want her to see my flustered face at all cost! I heard her voice from behind so I looked to see.

"Vaughn let's hang out tomorrow. After school."

After saying that, she smiled at me. After I replied with an "Okay" I ran to the clubroom since I'm getting late. While on training, I was deep in thought. Thinking about the warm smile that she showed earlier.

That smile... I just can't get enough of it...

Gayle's POV

I reached home safely. Finally I can rest and prepare for tomorrow.

Vaughn Stanley... Hmmm... That serious look of his. Looked cool...
