Gah. Really? Rules?

Well sorry, but yup. I'm gonna have to place some rules in place if we want this to be fair and run smoothly.

And yeah, the rules I typed below are pretty long. But please read carefully. There are a few things we'd like you to know before you do anything in our small award.

0. This is our first time hosting an award so please have patience. There will be hiccups. And there may be problems. Please bear with us.

1. There should be no advertising of any stories on this account, in this book, or in any other books/parts of Fresh Authors' Awards. If you want your novel to be discovered, don't take the liberty of advertising here, PM either of us: EchoSagal or emo_anxious_potato or at this account FreshAuthorsAwards and await evaluation to be added to our reading lists.

2. No CrackFic is allowed for submission. Please don't.

3. No mean or rude comments are permitted. If found, they will be promptly deleted or reported.

4. English and Spanish books are welcome!

5. No stories or content promoting overly sexual behaviour (smut) or sexually non-consented acts. While it is possible we may hold a contest specifically for romance and teen fiction separately to narrow the opportunities for winning, for now, please don't submit any smut about Harry Styles or Phan shipping.

6. FanFic is not allowed.

7. If you'd like to become a judge, please PM this account or head to the Become A Judge chapter and we'll get back to you. The criteria for applying is: do not comment for becoming a judge here. Do so in the Become A Judge chapter or PM EchoSagal or this account.

8. Add this book to your library to get updates. Also, add it to a reading list so it's more discoverable. The more people who know about us, the more undiscovered works get a chance on the Wattpad market!

9. The Fresh Author's Awards is held only twice each year. This is to ensure that as many books get discovered as possible, but to accommodate the fact that I also have a life outside of Wattpad, as well as school and other more pressing concerns. If you have already won a season, do not nominate yourself again for the subsequent season. You are allowed to re-enter, however.

For example. Barbara wins the 5th season of Fresh Authors' Awards. She sits out on the 6th season, then renominates a different book for the seventh. Like that.

10. AS THIS is all being done manually, there will be a limit of 140 entries to be screened before moving on to ROUND 1. For more details on how everything goes down visit the PROCESS chapter.

11. Each person is allowed 2 entries per author. This however does not mean you have to submit two novels. The work you enter MUST BE YOURS THAT YOU HAVE PERSONALLY WRITTEN, you cannot nominate someone's work. The password is any of the seven largest oceans. This is not People's Choice.

12. Have fun! Not everyone will win, but we're trying to keep as many seasons as we can so everyone has a chance of winning!
