After walking around for a few hours, doing some general sight seeing and shopping (Harry and Zayn and Liam spent a solid twenty minutes fighting over a grunge style leather jacket), the boys decide to introduce me to Nialls absolute favorite restaurant-- Nandos.
"Table in the back, please," Liam asks of a flustered waitress. Louis throws his arm around me, and we follow our waitress to the back of the restaurant. She gives us all a hesitant head nod and squeaks out that she'll be back in just a second to take our orders.
"Wow, so she definitely knew who y'all are," I laughed. The boys stared blankly back at me.
"I still can't believe you didn't know who we are," says Louis, shaking his head. "You sure you didn't live under a rock? We've got a huge following in the states!"
Niall sighs, "I miss the states."
"That's because you're the favorite over there," Harry reaches me to Niall, musing his hair, who grins and nods.
The rest of lunch is somewhat spent this way, just joking around with the boys. The flustered waitress comes back a few more times, and almost spills a soda all over Niall, who gives her a wide smile as she hurriedly apologizes. Niall also orders for me, as he knows the menu better than any of the other boys. I end up stealing food from all the boys plates as I try to taste all of the delicious food the restaurant has to offer.
As we eat, we agree to head to a small carnival that is in town about an hour away. After we're done and the bill is payed, we split (Me with Harry, Zayn with Louis, and Liam with Niall) up to fit into the collective three cars that the boys share.
Harry grabs my waist as we leave the restaurant and pulls me to his side.
"Ready for a fun day at the carnival?" He asks, opening the passenger seat of the car for me. I nod and grin up at him as he shuts the door and goes around to the other side. I can't believe that I'm about to spend the next hour in the car with him.
When he slides into the drivers seat and starts the car, neither one of us speaks. He pulls out of the parking lot and heads towards the carnival, but still, neither of us speak. Just when I think the entire hour long carride will be doomed to an awkward silence, Harry surprises me.
"So, how do you like England so far?"
"It's really good! I mean, I've met some really great people.. and this boy band that's kind of weird and keep on randomly showing up at my house, but you know, other than that, it's pretty cool."
"Hey, it wasn't completely random!" He laughs. "You definitely invited us over first."
I laugh at this and begin telling Harry the story of Steph and Millie stealing my phone at the cafe, texting Louis for me. He finds the story absolutely hilarious, and we continue on talking about Steph and Millie.
"So, uh, this Steph lad," He mumbles, looking over at me carefully, "Do you like him or something?"
"Yeah, Steph's pretty cool," I say, looking back over.
"No, I mean... do you like like him?" He coughs. I immediately begin to crack up.
"Steph might look slightly like a greek god, but he and I definitely play for the same team. He's about as straight as a circle," I crack up, with tears in my eyes. Harry seems to relax a little.
"Oh, that's good, I guess." He manages to say, while refraining from grinning.
Before I know it, we are sharing all sorts of stories from our childhood. Harry tells me about his sister, Gemma, who he clearly adores, and I tell him about Alec.
"So you two are really close?" He asks.
"Oh yeah. Alec is definitely one of the most important people in my life. He's always there for me, you know? I couldn't have asked for a better big brother. He's never not looking out for me."
"I get that," Harry nods. "I'd like to think that's how Gemma feels about me. Pretty girls like you two need big brothers to look out for them. There's a bunch of bad guys out there, just waiting to ruffle your feathers."
"And what about you," I ask as we park in the crowded lot of the carnival, "are you a bad guy, just waiting to ruffle my feathers?"
All of a sudden Harry is right up in my face, breathing the same air as me, making me blush. He looks down at my lips.
"Absolutely."
