"Lucian, where is she?" the leader snarled pointing up at the stairs. Lucian shook his head wildly looking at each member in turn and you could see the caged animal instincts kick in. His eyes flashed in my direction and I nodded with a hidden meaning being transferred silently between us. Lucian saw Vlad and hoped this man could ensure their safety, Marius had yet to even notice him and that was the only thing on their side, the element of surprise was the only thing that kept Lucian and Victoria alive.

"It's a big house Marius, I've no idea where she's been the past few days myself." He hung his head and sighed holding his wife close, he looked down into her brown eyes and a tear slid down his face as he tried to remember every piece of her, her smile, her laugh and their children. They both knew this was the end and they could only hope that their children had made it out safely.

Vlad ran up the stairs as fast as he could without becoming a mass of black wings and squeaks, he knew that the children were out of the house but something was nagging at the back of his mind. He made it to her room and saw how clean and empty the place looked, then he saw it. The necklace he gave her sat on her bedside table glistening in the moonlight, he walked over to it and picked it up gently holding the pendant up to the light for a better look. It was stunning and he was proud of this piece, his brow furrowed as he noticed rushed footsteps outside the door, he turned to hide but was too late. There she stood, her hair flowing out behind her as she rushed into the room, she looked everywhere and couldn't seem to find what she wanted, and then her eyes caught mine. It shook me to the core, those blue eyes bore into my very being and then it was gone, her eyes left mine and went to the necklace I held.

I stepped towards her still holding the necklace and smiling, she was silent and still catching her breath. i motioned with my hands for her to turn around and I found myself staring as she turned around following the silent command. It was then that I stopped just behind her holding the necklace in my hand, I feel that she wanted to turn around but stopped when I pushed her hair to the side and a placed the small chain around her soft neck. With a small snap, the necklace was fastened and resting comfortably around her neck. I watched as she raised her hand to touch it but she stopped when I let a soft chuckle against her skin. She then turned around to face me and tipped her head to the side it made me uncomfortable at being looked at with such intensity. I stepped back and dipped my head in her direction and then spoke. It was soft and yet rough at the same time, I could tell I had her lost in thought and continued talking even though I knew she wasn't fully aware of what I was saying.

"Aveţi Încredere În mine," I said smiling as I turned on my heel and descended back down the stairs before her brother could even see me. I felt wonderful, alive and had a renewed sense of purpose and I wasn't going to let Sorin have her as a prize, I was just going to have to show her that I could love her and always be there for her. I followed the hallway back to the living room and stopped as I heard two pairs of footsteps retreat out of the house, I recognized the sounds as Stela and Kosti were finally out of the house once and for all. I sighed, ran my hand through my hair, stood up straight and barged into the room where Lucian and the Guild were unannounced. Many faces whirled to look at me as I stood tall blocking the light from the hallway. Lucian was the first to recognize me and I felt sad knowing I hadn't made it in time to save her parents. He was holding his beloved Victoria in his arms, I could tell she had passed on, her skin was pale and a single line of blood had made its way down her wrist and was pooling underneath her hand. My eyes moved following the trail and noticed Lucian was holding a small knife limply in his hand. I glared at the knife, Marius was to blame and this I knew as he looked at me with a smug look as I assessed the room looking for any other weapons. I stepped towards Lucian kneeling next to him with a soft hand I lifted Victoria from his arms and set her down on the ground and clasped Lucian on the shoulder and whispered: "Your children are in the woods, they have not witnessed any of this I promise." He nodded another tear falling from his face to land on his now dead wife, he raised his eyes to mine and grabbed the knife tighter in his hand and then pleaded with me to kill him before Marius could have the luxury. I tried to be discrete as I took the knife in my hand and nodded not warning Lucian or Marius as to what would happen next.

Another short one, i really am wondering if i should just combine chapters and make them longer, would anyone be mad if i did this? Don't forget to comment and vote :)
