I wasn't panicked but I wasn't in control of myself as I left the meeting, I made my way back home in hopes that I wasn't being followed and from there constructed my plan. I would have to fly to her house, it was something I hadn't done in a little while and was weary that I had forgotten how to even move at that speed. I left through the back door sliding into the surrounding woods I ran and in a flutter of bats I was airborne and moving with an urgency I hadn't felt since the night I lost Mirena. It took only a few minutes to reach the Desponté mansion. It was a sight to behold, its high walls at least three stories up stopped only as a spire on each end rose to the heavens. It was an inviting sight as I stopped at the edge of the forest to land only to misjudge and I slid about a foot before coming to a stop against a tree. I shook my head feeling embarrassed, glad no one had seen that I shook the dirt and leaves off my clothes and stood tall before making my way to the entrance of the grand home. I had no idea what I would even say to them but I know it had to be to the point. I was close to the door when I heard voices that I had just spent some time with and froze.

"Sorin will be here soon, and then we will just take her and leave, I know her parents aren't truly ready for her involvement with Tulcea but it's now or never," one of the voices said gruffly as a few murmurs joined in the conversation.

"Do we wait for Sorin?" another asked, this voice I knew to be Sorin's mother. This became serious as more voices started clashing over the plans. I hid behind a bush just listening to the treachery before summoning the courage to use my sight. It had been a long time since I had even tried to use any of my other senses and it came back with a rush, I was hearing everything even the bugs on the ground made loud noises in my ears and my eyes, everything turned to a mixture of reds gray and black. The moon overhead made it easy to spot my prey as I hunched further down into the bushes, there were four and at least three more on the way if my hearing was correct. I slowly made my way back to the woods when I was stopped by the most beautiful sight, there she was standing looking out the window of what appeared to be a large sitting room. Her eyes not focusing on anything until they landed on me, I had been leaning on a tree watching her and forgot to hide. She stared right at me, her head tipping to the side as if she was sizing me up or merely curious like a little kitten with a new toy. I smirked at the thought but the task at hand was far too important to let those thoughts cloud my mind. I tipped my head in her direction and stepped back into the shadows of the night as the wind started to pick up around me causing my coat to whip around my legs.

I sat crouched waiting and watching the small group discuss more of their plans and every now and then glancing towards the mansion hoping that I could save her family from the fate that might just kill them all. It was almost eight when I saw the leader of Tulcea move to the house, my muscles ached when I stood up. I could hear Stela talking to her parents and then the concern hit her voice and stabbed me with sadness. They must have just told her about the engagement, I was done for.

"Da? What are you saying, I don't understand" Stela voiced concern laced in her tone.

"My darling, I am sorry but you must go, hide even but do not come back here. Whatever you do never look back, Kosti will lead you and protect you but never turn back." Her father whispered.

"Konstantin! It is time, gather your things and run as far away as you can" their father yelled just as I noticed the leader of Tulcea reach the door. It was now or never and I planned on doing whatever I could to save Stela. I slid out of my hiding spot and exploded into a flurry of bats as I circled the mansion keeping an eye on the exits. I then saw a flash of green below me and noticed Konstantin and his sister fleeing, I wanted to follow but I had to make sure that she was save and it was then that I dove free falling as the wind whipped past me. I landed lightly on my feet this time looking over my shoulder in the direction Stela went and then ducked through the doorway into the mansion. I could hear shouting and rounded the corner to see Lucian holding his wife Victoria close to him shielding her from the vicious faces of their former Guild.
