I walked downstairs to see Geoff and Charlie around the kitchen table, already dressed for school. They looked guilty, eyes following me as I walked to the kitchen. I didn't realize why until I opened the cupboard to see that all of the cereal was gone. I turned around to see them with mouthfuls of Lucky Charms.
"Sorry," they both murmured with food in their mouths.
"It's fine, I'll just eat an apple," I replied, picking one up and then cutting it into four chunks before going back upstairs to get dressed.
I put on a random blue shirt on with some leggings before I went to my mirror to try and fix my hair. It wasn't that bad this morning, but I knew that it would get a little crazy once the wind had its change with it.
After that, I walked to the bathroom downstairs. I heard Geoff leave for school and Charlie fretting over him having his lunch and if the had all of his school supplies. It made me smile, Charlie treated Geoff like his kid, and it was really quite adorable.
"Gus!" I heard Charlie shout as he walked through the house.
"What?!"
"Where are you-" He asked before he came upon the bathroom door. " Are you almost ready?"
"Uhuh," I said, finishing my highlight before I turned to him with a smile. "I'm ready."
"Good, because I was getting impatient," Charlie complained as he picked up his bag and slung it over his shoulder. He grabbed the keys from the little hanger we had by the door before he looked back at me getting my things.
He groaned, "Oh Come on Gus!"
"What?" I questioned, "Why are you in such a hurry?"He was silent, something that interested me. Did he want to see someone? If he did, who was it?
"Let's just go."
"Alright, sassy pants," I replied, sticking my phone into my jacket pocket before I went out the door.
Charlie shut the door behind me and we left the house from the driveway and went on the sidewalk. We walked for about a block before Charlie made a turn away from the school. He didn't even say anything before he did so.
"Where are you going?" I called after him.
He turned for only a second before he said, "Meeting a friend." and continued walking. I sighed, I would have to go the rest on my own.
I walked up to the school only a few minutes later, not really wanting to go in. I've been going to good ole Prestmont High School for at least 3 years, and let me tell you, it's hard trying to fake that you're 13 when you look like a pretty convincing 15 year old, but in all actuality you're 400+ years old. I had a hard time explaining it to people, having to show past pictures of myself to prove that it ran in my 'family'. It felt kind of cool to really show pictures of myself instead.
I finally walked in the school when I saw the bus come in that held about of a fourth of the kids. As I walked in I took in the smell of cleaning supplies and enjoyed the dim hallway. I walked through the gym and tried to not get hit by the middle schooler's basketballs at they tried to shoot from the half-court line. I looked for Geoff, who was probably sitting in the cafeteria with his friends. I couldn't seem to find him so I decided to move along.
I continued to the far set of stairs without being hit and started my long and very much hated ascendancy that I trekked every morning. It wasn't enough that I was dead-beat tired, I had to climb three flights of stairs in the morning just to get to my locker. Once I was there though, I got my things out, put on my favorite shoes that resided in my locker and took out my US History Binder.
