The sound of a carousel hovered in the air. The smell of old popcorn, and hay stained my nose. I started to open my eyes cautiously. The bright yellow sun, blinded my eyes. The sky was a sea blue, with small puffy clouds. I started to sit up, fighting the acing pain in my lower back.

Red and white striped tents covered the brown and green ground. There was one big tent in front of me. A line that held dozens of people, slowly made its way into the tent.

"Where the hell am I?". I questioned. The big tent had dark blue flags, that stuck out of the top. The tent was in the shape of a cone. Little red tents were scattered around, next to the big one.

"Hey! What are you doing on the ground". A voiced asked behind me. The sound came from a little girl. Her voice was chirpy, but filled with wonder. I turned my body around, while still sitting on the ground. The girl had a white dress, with flat baby blue shoes. Her hair was in a long braid, that went down to her knees.

"Where am I?". I asked her. I looked around a little bit more. I didn't have one clue, of where I was.

"Come on, you have to see the show!". She yelled at me. She skipped her way towards my body, and took my hand. There was something about this girl that was familiar, but I just couldn't put my finger on it. I stood up as the little girl pulled at me. I wiped the dirt off my pants with my free hand. With the girl pulling me, we made our way over to the front of the tent.

"Step right up, and see the horrors that await you!". A voice announced. I looked over to the sound and a small man was behind a glass box. The word "tickets", was present on the front of it. A small carousel turned around and around behind the man. Kids rode the horses up and down as the music began to play.

"Don't worry, we can get in for free. My daddy works here". The girl whispered to me. We sneaked into the line. It wasn't as long as before, we only had two people in front of us. As we waited I took in my surroundings once again. Big green flags hovered over a long golden pole. A small yellow popcorn stand, stood in front of the big tent. The two people finally entered the tent as the girl and I stepped closer.

"Are you ready?". She asked me with excitement in her eyes. I couldn't help but smile at her. I know I was in a place that I've never seen before, but this girl was pure. I couldn't help but find joy from her. I gave her a small nod, and we walked into the tent.

A line of dark wooden benches were lined with people. They rose to the top, and all around the tent, in a giant circle. We took our seats in the front row. The sound of people's laughter filled the air. The girl nudged me in the arm, and I brought my ear down to her lips.

"My name is Alice". She whispered. I brought my mouth up to her ear.

"Ian". I whispered back at her. She was going to say something else, before a voice roared on loud speakers.

"Good morning lady's and gentlemen. Today your about to see the impossible. So, if you cannot watch, I suggest you leave right now". No one moved a muscle, they just sat there in awe. "No takers? Well then, prepare to have your minds blown!". The speaker cut off, and circus music started playing. A small child entered the tent from the front. He made his way down the the center of the tent, and I gasped at the sight. He had no legs, and it wasn't a child. It was a full grown man, just without legs.

"A freak show. But they only had those back in the day". I whispered under my breath. I looked around the the tent more closely. People had on clothes that were not from my time period. The man with no legs slowly exited the tent as another person came in. A tall woman stood in front of the crowd. Actually, tall is just sugar coating it, she was huge! She had to be at least eight feet tall! She took a bow and headed out of the tent. 'Could this get any weirder?'. I questioned to myself.
