Tally Youngblood POV:
I didn't sleep so well once the pills wore off, Ozzy had informed me of the dead. Jaclyn from 1, the boy from three, and the girl from twelve. He told me it was down to the three of us. Kiki, him, and myself. How could this be really? Cruelty of fate? How was I going to kill them? I couldn't it horrified me to no end. I didn't want to die.
We had run all night I remembered too. As the land blew and got harder to dodge the branches. But we had reached the main field. The cornucopia was off in the distance to us and a small bit of forest left too. Kiki was bound through there right? Maybe... She wasn't dead though Kiki had lived but the game makers had to know we wouldn't kill each other. Ozzy and I were in love and Kiki was my ally I couldn't kill her after she saved me.
I rubbed my eyes standing as I had been able to in the past but it was hard. I looked to Ozzy beside me. He was sleeping peacefully against the tree we hid under. I sighed and looked to the football sized length between us and the cornucopia. I hope the death they had for us would be quick.
"Tally?" I heard Ozzy mumble from my side.
"Yeah?" I asked.
"Are we still in a truce?" He asked warily.
"Always," I whispered.
He smiled sitting up. I got up and made a small fire. I hadn't even realized the fog was gone from around us. The sun shone brightly. It has been over a week since I seen the sun.
"Tributes it seems to have come down to the last three of you and you know only one can win." A voice came out around us. "The air has been turned back on so your helmets are now useless. You may dispose of them and get prepared you've got twenty minutes until the 'surprise' is released. Only one with survive good luck."
With that the voice was gone. Slowly I undid the helmet and breathed in fresh air. Ozzy followed I suit and threw the helmet and bag off of him. The extra weight was gone and it felt so good!
I smiled and turned and hugged Ozzy. "Now that those are out of the way, there's something I've been meaning to do for the past few days." He whispered.
His hands found my waist and pulled me closer to him. My own traveled to his unruly hair that had grown back into it's longer curly mess. I liked it though. His eyes shined and looked down to me. I hadn't even realized our different heights so much unit now.
"Ozzy..." I whispered as his lips pressed against mine.
He pulled me tighter to him as he took control of the kiss pressing me to the tree as his lips explored mine. Sadly we had to break away for air.
He looked down pleased and happily at me, I smiled brightly back at him. "I love you," He whispered.
"I love you too." I murmured kissing him again.
"I hate to ruin your moment but we need to prepare."
I immediately pulled back to see Kiki standing with her scythe completely unscratched. I stared a little confused but she seemed completely fine besides some bruises. Odd she was chased by careers, how she was alive was beyond me.
"Kiki!" I squealed and ran at her.
I embraced her tightly and held her close. Tears pricked in my eyes. "Thank you, Kiki for everything. You're alive!" I cried.
She smiled softly and pulled back. She looked at Ozzy skeptically. "Though I'm surprised one career lives and hasn't killed you."
Ozzy held his hands up in defense and backed a bit. "I would never hurt Tally, ever since I saw her I couldn't. She's my life. I love her."
