The Hour After

Wills POV:

An hour later, and Chiron finally agreed to let the Will send out a search party for Nico. Will insisted that they left the hour after, giving them exactly an hour to prepare and get to the entrance. Whoever wanted to join, joined. So far, the group consisted of Will, Reyna, Hazel, Frank (who came right after Hazel Iris Messaged him that Nico left), Percy and Annabeth, (who came from the middle of class after Will Iris Messaged Percy in the middle of class), Calypso and Leo, (who were at camp, Jason and Piper, (also at camp), Thalia, (who also got an Iris Message), and almost the whole Apollo cabin to support Will.

Leo bursts out of Bunker 9 a half hour before there were due to leave.

"WILL! I.. HAVE... DEVICE" Leo screamed across camp breathing heavily from running.

"He made a tracking device that tracks death, basically." Calypso summarized.

"But not the scent of death exactly, but the radiation of death!" Leo exclaimed.

"Perfect!" Will whisper-shouted excitedly. "Wait what about Hazel?"

"She's this dot on the device," Leo pointed to a small green dot on the mini map on the device, "And Nico isn't close enough to be sensed YET"

"How far does it track?" Will couldn't think of the correct wording, but Leo seemed to understand.

"Well, its scans the whole country you are in, so Nico isn't anywhere in the United States." Leo frowned.

"Um, Leo and I can ride Festus, Thalia and Hazel can shadow-travel, since Hazel learned to shadow-travel and Thalia doesn't want to fly she told us. And we can use as many pegasi as we want Chiron said, but Will, I don't know about your cab-" Calypso was cut off by a burst of extremely bright light coming from behind them.

"Hey kids! Your favorite god has arrived!" Apollo beamed, causing Leo, Calypso, and Will to turn around and face the god.

"I heard about your search party for Hades' son, and heard that my kids needed a lift, so," he pressed a button on his car keys, turning his sports car into a school bus, "I can take all!!"

"Well that covers the issue of transportation" Leo stated the obvious.

The group left on time, all flying, except Thalia and Hazel who were told to meet them in Italy.

"He grew up in Italy, it was his home, maybe he went back." Will suggested. The whole group went as fast across the ocean as they could.

They all met up eventually in Venice, Nico's birthplace. They all landed and Leo looked at his device,

"There are two dots!! He's in Venice!" Leo exclaimed. Will turned around frantically, but stopped at the sight of mist behind him. Someone had been Iris Messaging him for gods know how long, and Will didn't even notice. The last thing he heard of the Message was a small yelp coming from a familiar dark haired scrawny boy.

"Hey! He disappeared! He's not on the map anymore!"

"He know we're looking for him..." Will started, head falling, arms dropping to his sides, "...and he knows how we're looking for him too."
