"Jiyong, this is Dara's boyfriend. Donghae, Jiyong, the person who can see Dara." Chaerin tried to be very casual.
I just arrived at the hospital and we were all waiting for a change to happen. Dara's parents were there and so was Donghae and Chaerin.
"Nice to meet you, man." Donghae offered his hand for a handshake and I accepted it.
"Jiyong, Dear, how long should be wait? It's already past eight in the evening." Dara's mother asked.
"We shouldn't hurry things, Sweetheart. What's going to happen will happen." Mr. Park told her.
"I'm also not sure what needs to be done or if there's something we need to do. All I know is that Dara's task will end today." I replied.
I looked at Dara who was sitting beside her lying body. She was holding the hand of her human form.
"Are you feeling anything?" I asked her.
She shook her head.
"Wait... Is she here right now?" Donghae asked.
"She's over there." I answered, pointing at Dara's direction.
"This isn't just some kind of a joke, right?" He sounded like he didn't want to believe what's happening.
"Donghae, we already told you about Chaerin's story, right?" Mrs. Park tried to explain.
"I'm sorry, Mrs. Park. This is just so surreal." He told her.
"He didn't want to believe I exist?" Dara stood up, looking upset.
"No, that's not the case." I said.
"Is there something wrong, Jiyong?" Chaerin asked me.
"Dara thinks he doesn't want to believe she exists." I relayed.
Dara stood by my side and stared at Donghae. "Is he really my boyfriend?"
"He looks a little serious... and quite boring." I whispered, wanting to lighten up her worry.
"I think so, too." She agreed. "What was I like to choose a guy like him?"
I laughed at what she said. "You probably are also boring. Birds of the same feather flock together, they say." I teased her.
She punched my arm which caused me to grimace and flinch, exaggerating my reaction to what she did.
"What's happening?" Chaerin asked.
"Nothing." I answered. "She's just being hot-headed." I said, chuckling.
Chaerin smiled. "Never seen her like that before. That's new."
"Dara never had showed her temper nor got mad at anyone." Donghae reacted while he kept his forehead creased. "What have you done to her?" He asked, looking at me.
"What does he mean by that?" Dara asked, annoyed.
"Donghae." Chaerin called him out.
"I only have stayed with her for a month, Donghae. I don't think I did anything wrong. And just to let you know, we're just bickering and playing around."
"Serves you right." Dara commented.
I laughed secretly.
"Where's your Mom, Chaerin?" Mrs. Park asked, trying to divert out attention from the arising argument.
"She's probably on her way with Dad."
"I think we should all take a rest while waiting. Donghae, I know you're tired from work. Why don't you go home and rest for now instead of staying overnight? We'll call you if we have any good news to tell." Mr. Park told Donghae.
