Another one shot o_O Man, I've been writing a lot. But things might start slowing down because of all this crazy summer stuff.

Dedicated to Zelinkie for the AMAZING cover!!!! I'm so grateful for this, Bella, seriously, because I'm absolute trash at making covers, lol.

If you wanna help me make a cover for a oneshot, please let me know via PM, and we can discuss stuff. In return for helping me out, I'll dedicate a one shot to you ^

Anywayssssss, please do the support thing because I'm a tired person, lol.

My stomach lurches as we come to a sudden halt, and I instinctively know that this is not good. The wind messes with my unruly blond hair relentlessly, and I peer out the side of the cart, feeling us sway back and forth. I'm in no way afraid of heights, thankfully, and I glance over at the girl across from me.

With just one look, I can tell that she's scared of heights. She's gripping the edges of the cart on one side, her knuckles practically turning white from her effort. Her breathing is erratic, and she suddenly squeezes her eyes shut tight, refusing to look down.

"Are - are you okay?" I ask her.

Wordlessly, she shakes her head, keeping her eyes closed.

Just my freaking luck - being stuck at the very top of a Ferris wheel with a girl I didn't know who has a phobia of heights. "Well... We're here, and who knows how long it'll take for us to start going again."

I know we're stuck because we stopped at the top, and this is normal for Ferris wheels. But the thing is, we've already stopped at the top once before. Something must be wrong, but I can't tell the girl this. I see clusters of people gathered down below, and they're all pointing up at us.

Finally, the girl speaks, and her voice is really sweet sounding. "I wanna go down - I don't like this! This is terrifying!"

Uhhhh, what to do now. What to do now... "I'm sure we'll be alright," I say, trying to sound reassuring. We're both silent for a few more moments before I speak again. "I'm Link - What's your name?"

"Zelda..." the girl says, finally opening her eyes to look at me curiously. They're a cornflower blue. I like them.

Then, the cart we're in rocks again, and a gasp escapes her lips. I feel bad for the girl so I scoot across so that I'm sitting beside her. She doesn't waste any time before throwing her arms around me and pulling me into a tight involuntary embrace. Gingerly, I attempt to reciprocate by awkwardly slinging an arm over her shoulders.

She buries her face in my chest, and I feel her tears soak through the fabric of my red T-shirt. The cart shifts again, and she squeals, gripping me even tighter.

This is really awkward.

Not knowing quite what else to do, I begin to hum softly to her under my breath.

"I like cats," she finally mumbles, listening to my calming melody. "They're so... fluffy. I have two kittens back home. Dinraal and Naydra."

I don't stop my humming, hoping that they can fix this dumb Ferris wheel so we can start going down and I can have a normal conversation with this girl. No matter how much I try to convince myself, I find myself not minding if we continued talking beyond this experience. Pausing in my humming, I try to keep the conversation going, "I'm more of a dog person myself, but kittens are really cute."

"I know," she agrees. "They're the cutest things in the world! I wanna go home so I can see them now... Do you have any dogs?"

A laugh bubbles out of me, "No, I actually don't... I've always wanted one, but now that you mention it, I wouldn't mind having a few cats around either... Hey, once we get down... Do you think you'd mind going to get some cotton candy or something?"

She seems to perk up once I mention cotton candy, for some reason. "I'd love to! I'll just tell my friends that I'm going with you."

"Wait - why are you all alone up here if you're scared of heights...?" I decide to question.

Her eyes get scared. "Um... Well..."

Raising a brow, I further ask, "Zelda?"

Giving a small, cute cough, she says, "They dared me..."

"To do what? Ride a Ferris wheel by yourself to conquer your fear of heights?" I say, instantly feeling anger toward her friends.

She coughs again, keeping her head buried in my chest. "Well... They dared me to ride a Ferris wheel by myself with you to help conquer my fear of heights..."

I'm stunned out of words at this. "... What?"

Giving a little sigh of defeat, she further clarifies, "You may not recognize me, Link, but I go to your school, and I happen to really, really like you. That's why I'm up here."

A small smile sneaks onto my face, and I look down at the girl curled up next to me; once again, I can see just how pretty her blue eyes are. "Well, I don't know yet, but I'd like to see you again if that's alright with you, Zelda. Maybe even get the chance to meet Dinraal and Naydra."

"I think I'd like that," she mutters, glancing down again.

Then, we feel a jolt and are thrown together against Zelda's side of the cart. Then, the Ferris wheel begins moving again, and Zelda gives a small sigh of relief, "Everything's fixed now?"

"I'd assume so," I nod before grinning. "So cotton candy after this?"

She smiles back, not minding the height. "Most definitely! This'll be fun, Link."

Apparently luck was on my side, and my day hasn't turned out too bad after all.
