Chapter 3

Lilly has always hated car rides as they make her legs turn stiff and in return leaves Lilly in a frustrated and painful state with her stiff legs. Lilly sighs quietly as she turns her head to face the front of the car to see the time; 4:35. They have been in the car for two hours. Lilly sighs angrily as she wonders how much longer she has to wait until she can to stretch her legs and tend to her aching muscles.

Lilly glanced at her mother and notices that she had fallen asleep, Lilly was so deep in thought she hadn't noticed that her mother had stopped sobbing and was quiet. Lilly risks a glance at the werewolf and notices that his eyes were trained on Amanda and every few seconds his eyes shifted back onto the road to make sure that they didn't crash the car. Lilly felt unsafe as she noticed that the car kept swerving from side to side every so often and she felt the car jerk as they drove through a speed bump.

Lilly returned her eyes back outside of the moving vehicle and studied the moist green trees and grass that flew by. Lilly decided if the wolf was going to secretly dispose of her she might as well look at the beautiful scenery for the last time so her eyes can treasure her last moment on earth as a human. She watched as the tress swayed side to side in a beautiful and graceful pattern. She watched as the remaining animals that weren't eaten by werewolves or vampires sat, in a small huddled herd together, treasuring their last days, waiting to be captured and eaten.

Lilly continues to watch the view before her eyes switched to the mirror for a brief second to see the wolf looking at her. He breaks Lilly's train of thought, "Sweetheart? Do you want to go to sleep, we don't have much longer till we get there and you look extremely tired. I will carry you in, if it calms you down and if you think I will leave you in the car." He whispers as quietly as he can to not wake up my mother and stir her from her sleep. Lilly smiles when she looks out the window, assuming the werewolf is happy only because he can now touch his mother however he likes without her crying or screaming.

A deep chuckle sound out through the car and Lilly jumps and catches eye contact with the wolf. He gives her a warm smile, showing Lilly his pointy canines, "I am glad you are warming up to me sweetly." He says happily. Lilly frowns at him wondering if she missed something. She didn't show that she was warming up to him, she only smiled which probably made him assume that she was grateful for what he had said about not leaving her in the car.

Ignoring the wolf Lilly shifts her body into a more comfortable position in the car, making sure not to hurt her stiff legs as they were already aching in pain. Lilly leans her head against the window, allowing her wavy brunette hair to cover some of her vision to block out the monster driving the vehicle. Lilly closes her eyes allowing the comfort of the blackness to take her away from what she wished was just a nightmare.

Ever since the supernatural had taken over all of the humans had lost the luxury of owning anything fancy. All of the famous human celebrities lost their status and their fame and like the rest of the normal humans had to become a slave towards the supernatural; always working and never getting enough sleep. Even having a proper bed was a luxury that humans never got anymore as  the supernatural took anything that the humans had which the supernatural council deemed too luxurious for a human. They gave all of the humans a bed to sleep in but they were broken or not properly made.

Lilly was confused as to why when she woke up the next morning she found herself in a rather soft bed and not in her broken uncomfortable one. Lilly looks around the room and is surprised to see a pretty, neat large room bigger than both the rooms that her mother and her had slept in back at home. Lilly moans quietly as she minds the bed comfortable and heaven like.
