Zane's P.O.V

"You're telling me that the fucking devil has taken my girlfriend!" I shouted.

Daniel and Rachel nodded their heads while Ally shook her head at the pair of them. I was glad that Ally was pissed off at the pair as well because I would feel so guilty if I was the only one that was angry. If Riley was here she would try to calm me down and try to show me that they had done the best they could. But Riley wasn't here; she wasn't here to tell me that everything would be okay.

I missed her green eyes and pretty smile, she had only been gone for a little bit but I missed her already. I hated to admit it but I was scared without her by my side, she always seemed to keep me from falling into an abyss that waited to swallow me up. Now, everything felt as if it was falling away and taking everything I loved with it.

"I'm so sorry Zane," Rachel whispered. "We did the best we could."

I dropped to the ground not wanting to hear their pathetic apologies. "I don't give a fuck about your fucking apologies! Riley is gone, case closed!"

I got up from my spot on the ground and shoved past them. I had to get out of here and try to clear my head and calm down. I didn't know where I was going until I saw the large sign that declared that I was standing in front of Oasis, the night club where I first met Riley. I clenched my jaw and backed away from the club. Seeing the building didn't help calm me down, it just enraged me more.

I turned around to find Daniel standing behind me in his human form. I narrowed my eyes when I saw him; he was the last person I wanted to see.

"What do you want?" I demanded.

"Rachel sent me to see if you were okay," Daniel replied while crossing his arms over his chest.

"Well I'm fine so go," I snapped.

Daniel smiled at me slightly but he didn't go. "You're just like Riley at times."

The anger subsided at the mention of Riley's name. "How am I like her?"

"You're attitude towards losing her is the way she felt when she defended you all those months ago," Daniel replied thoughtfully.

My heart constricted in my chest at the comparison. I let my gaze drop to the ground as I tried to let all my pain go away but it just continued to intensify.

Daniel continued to talk about Riley and say how much she meant to everyone, he spoke as if he was giving a eulogy. My anger continued to rise the more he spoke about her. I lifted my eyes in hopes that Daniel would see the rage inside my eyes and stop but he didn't.

            "Just shut up!" I snapped.

"Get fucked Zane," Daniel growled. "You're not the only one that's upset that she is gone!"

"Why would you be, Daniel?" I demanded. "Why do you care?"

"Because I love her too!" Daniel shouted.

I jumped slightly at the tone of Daniel's voice. I quickly composed myself before replying. "Yeah everyone seems to love her."

"I don't love her the way you think I do," Daniel stated.

"In what way do you love her?" I asked.
